Things to do in dujiangyan

The Minjiang River originates from the snow-capped mountains, where it splits at the Fish Mouth, flowing ceaselessly for millennia. This engineering feat, completed over two thousand years ago, continues to nourish the Chengdu Plain. Seeing it with one's own eyes reveals the awe-inspiring wisdom of the ancients!

The cable car is short, and you still need to walk most of the way. I didn't do any research before coming. The front of Qingcheng Mountain is a large loop, and you only need to buy a one-way cable car up and walk down from the other side. I bought a round-trip cable car, which wasted my trip.

The back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain boasts a tranquil environment and fresh air, making it ideal for escaping the summer heat. The hiking experience is also quite leisurely, allowing you to take your time and enjoy the scenery at your own pace. Spend the day hiking and the night in Tai'an Ancient Town, allowing yourself to relax and immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility of nature.

If you take the cable car up and down the mountain, you'll miss many attractions. Before taking the cable car, you'll pass a pier where you can take a boat, saving you some distance. However, the boats are slow to depart, and you can walk while waiting.

It truly lives up to its reputation as one of Chengdu's must-see spots; those who haven't been should definitely check it out. During the day, you can stroll around the scenic area, and in the evening, enjoy snacks near the South Bridge. The variety of trinkets and delicious food is dazzling. I recommend visiting the South Bridge at night; the lights create a stunning visual effect, the water flows rapidly below, and the overall atmosphere is magnificent. The antique architecture adds a unique touch, evoking a sense of history. The bioluminescent plankton truly lives up to its name.

I stayed at the Cloud Smart Hotel for three days, and it truly felt like being enveloped in gentle comfort. Very nice ancient town to visit after visiting the Dujiangyan. There is a dining restaurant named 月光宝瓶 beside the river which offers a great view of the river. There are lots of local shops that sell the local products which is great for those that want to buy some souvenirs or local bakery pastry to bring home. We exited to 南桥 (South Bridge) to catch the high speed train to go back to our hotel, so didn't manage to catch a view of the 蓝眼泪 night lighting of the river.

Yangtianwo Square is a two- or three-minute walk from Lidui Park High-Speed ​​Railway Station. It is famous for its giant selfie panda. Because it is a sunken square, there are quite a few angles for taking pictures.
