I bought two eSIM cards to stay connected in Bali. No registration is required; I connect through Telkomsel. The purchase process is standard, as is the installation. Upon arrival at the airport, I found 5G, and it seemed to be the only place I could get 5G. Elsewhere, the eSIM showed 4G+. Overall, 4G is sufficient in Bali for hailing a motorcycle taxi or paying for purchases. However, 5G would have been highly desirable, given the advertising campaigns on the island from local operators. In some places in the north of the island, coverage was minimal.
