I was thinking of bringing two devices and using only one, but it was difficult to use, so I quickly applied for it locally and was able to use it immediately. It works in a lot of countries, the price isn't anything amazing especially depending where you are traveling but it is convenient. I would recommend getting 1gb per day and be prepared that the coverage isn't great.
