After booking through the Trip platform, you can set up your account in Taiwan beforehand, which includes a large phone credit limit. Highly recommended, as it provides mobile reception in various cities. However, when chasing the aurora borealis in Yellowknife, some remote areas had no signal. (But other friends also had no signal.) I also learned from reviews that there might be a risk of scam calls, but I didn't receive any (?). However, there was a small problem: when I moved to Niagara Falls, I suddenly lost all signal and phone service, essentially going into SOS mode. I could only rely on my friend's internet, but fortunately, there was Wi-Fi available in some shops.

I booked this for my trip to Toronto, needing 3GB/day for 24 hours x 4 days. Unexpectedly, I had to go to New York for a day during my trip, but for some reason, I mistakenly thought the eSIM I booked was for Canada and the US, and it worked fine in NY as well. After returning home, I opened the app to write a review and realized that my reservation was for Canada only. Why did it work in NY? It was a lifesaver, though...
