Things to do in Kuandian

Take a stroll across the broken bridge and gaze at North Korea on the opposite bank. The Tiger Mountain Great Wall isn't long, and climbing it is quite quick. Some steps are steep, and some sections with damaged stones haven't been repaired; some people only went halfway before turning back. The package ticket is convenient; just scan the code to enter the scenic area.

Overall it was OK, mainly because the cruise ship allowed me to watch the North Korean people up close, which was quite novel. The Broken Bridge at the river mouth was full of history. Standing on the Broken Bridge, I remembered the martyrs in my heart. The service in the scenic area was average, and the performance on Changhe Island was really meaningless, don't go!!! It was a waste of time. I fell asleep while watching it. I also left early.

The scenery was beautiful, but we arrived a bit early; it wasn't late autumn yet, and the maple leaves weren't fully red. There were many sights to see, including a sea of ​​clouds, layered mountains, and dense primeval forests with very high oxygen levels. There were also all sorts of strangely shaped rocks and landscapes. You only truly appreciate the experience by immersing yourself in it. I didn't feel tired even after walking all day! Each season should have its own unique scenery. I look forward to coming back in winter. The staff were very welcoming, and the overall environment of the scenic area was excellent, with regular maintenance and a strong focus on the visitor experience!

On October 13, 2025, I drove 1.5 hours from downtown Dandong to check in here. The scenery along National Highway G331 from downtown Dandong is incredibly beautiful. Tickets to the national gate cost 15 yuan per person to go upstairs and overlook the railway bridge and North Korea on the other side. Tickets are free for people over 70. There are many tour groups here, and since there's only one road, there's little roadside parking, which makes it incredibly crowded with tour buses. Fortunately, checking in and taking photos here only takes about 15 minutes, so there's no chaos or traffic jams. Personally, I think if you're visiting the national gate, the more beautiful scenery is on the G331 road. For self-driving tours, I recommend following the G331 all the way to the gate, checking in here, and then returning to downtown Dandong.

This is where Mao Anying entered North Korea. There is the Mao Anying Memorial Square and the Mao Anying Primary School. There are many red flags on the Broken Bridge, which creates a strong atmosphere. The opposite side of North Korea is mostly mountainous natural landscapes, unlike the Broken Bridge on the Yalu River which is an architectural landscape. There is also a square where peach blossoms are in full bloom, which has a unique flavor. There are few people there in winter, and the farmhouses don't have much business.

China. Lujiang Village, Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Dandong City, Liaoning Province, borders Jilin, is adjacent to the People's Republic of Korea, and is separated by the Yalu River. It has green mountains and clear waters, and lush vegetation. It is very nice!

The natural scenery in the Qingshangou package is very beautiful, with green mountains, green waters, white grass and red leaves. There are not many people during the National Day holiday. You can stay in a farmhouse in the town for one night and taste the local specialties. The taste is very good. The performance of Baqi Shanshui Ballad is very average. The venue is very cold. I caught a cold while sitting and watching the nearly 2-hour performance. I really couldn't participate in the bonfire party afterwards. The temperature difference between morning and evening in the mountains is very large. Summer may be more suitable for outdoor activities at night.

The scenic area boasts unique columnar jointing, lush vegetation, and boat tours depart on the hour. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there is also a peacock release performance where the peacocks fly down in an orderly formation upon hearing the whistle.

I think Tianhua Mountain Scenic Area is a very worthwhile scenic area. It combines beautiful mountain scenery, interesting wild roads with rugged rocks, and scenery accompanied by streams. The fun of climbing is very strong. After getting off the transfer bus, the first attraction in the scenic area is Tongtian Gorge, which is very spectacular. It is amazing to admire the uncanny workmanship of nature. The scenic area is relatively large, with six scenic areas. Because we are in a hurry, we only walked a part of the essence route, but we also experienced various special routes and scenery. It’s just that the geographical location of the scenic area is a bit remote and the transportation is inconvenient. There may be fewer people who know about this scenic area. In the whole climbing project, we only met a group of friends who climbed the mountain. There were basically no service staff on the mountain. The whole climbing process depends on self-care. Overall, Tianhua Mountain Scenic Area is worth the trip. I hope I can have the opportunity to experience it again in the future.
