Things to do in Luxi

September was a pretty good month to visit; the temperature was just right, neither too hot nor too cold, and there were fewer people, making it suitable for road trips. Elderly people might have some mobility issues, but everything else was perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fun of climbing onto the roof and removing the tiles in Chengzi Ancient Town. The earthen houses here are all connected, and your roof is my yard. Strolling on the roof is full of original, rustic charm.

The scenery is beautiful, so I recommend buying a one-way ticket and walking on and off the bus. This way you can see all the attractions. Otherwise, you can only see the Buddha statue by bus, which is not a very user-friendly design. There should be two or three more stops along the way.

It's a large scenic area with a beautiful natural environment, perfect for taking photos. There's also an exhibition hall in the desert botanical garden that introduces the development history of Taiping Lake Scenic Area. You can learn about the arduous and extraordinary efforts the original developers made to transform a barren, desertified land into the beautiful, flower-filled park it is today. This introduction is definitely worth seeing.

Mile Dongfeng Farm is a red-brick art town designed by artist Luo Xu. It was transformed from an old state-owned farm, and the entire group of red-brick buildings is constructed without a single steel bar or nail, relying solely on the interlocking of red bricks. Its unique style is highly recommended.

I visited this well-known 5A scenic spot several years ago. I bought Ashima cigarettes there for 260 yuan a carton, but I heard they've been discontinued for a few years. There were many vendors selling ginseng fruit in the parking lot, the cheapest being 10 yuan for five bags. I bought quite a few.

From the entrance to the village, after exploring the village, we took a bus to Tiger Roaring Forest, then another bus to the exit, and finally visited Mizhi Wonderland. Since we weren't going back the way we came, we descended the mountain from another exit, and eventually took the sightseeing bus back to the exit. Although each section of the road wasn't long, there wasn't much scenery along the way, and it added up to several kilometers, but it was still worth it!

Many variations of specialized pools to soak in. Water temperature is perfect for relaxing.

Walking slowly along the path, a cool mist washes over you, and the holographic projections and the waterfall's flow intertwine, like a flowing galaxy. Reaching the central viewing platform, the 77.8-meter-high waterfall transforms into a giant natural screen. Lasers pierce the night sky, and rainbows and Buyi ethnic totems appear and disappear in the mist. The roar of the waterfall and the sound of drums resonate together; at that moment, you truly forget to take out your phone and just want to stand and watch the whole thing.
