The main building of Dogo Onsen is undergoing earthquake-resistant renovation. The main building of Dogo Onsen, which remains open during the renovation, has also been affected by the epidemic, and the number of people has decreased a lot... I hope everyone will be more careful, and everyone will be healthy and safe.

Dogo Onsen is one of the oldest hot springs in Japan, with a long history of 3,000 years. The main building of the hot spring bath is a three-story wooden structure. After it was built, it became the symbol of Dogo Onsen. The bath in the animated film "Spirited Away" was created based on this. In 1994, Dogo Onsen was designated as an important cultural heritage by the Japanese government for the first time as a hot spring facility. This building has a magnificent and retro appearance, which is a perfect fusion of classic and modern. The hot spring hall has three floors, and different floors correspond to different prices. In addition, you can pay to visit the royal bath. There are two bathrooms on the first floor, Rei no Yu and Kami no Yu. The second floor and above are rest rooms. The young master in the novel likes to use the separate room on the third floor of Rei no Yu. There are photos of Natsume Soseki inside, which can be visited for free

This is a zoo where you can meet Peace the Polar Bear. It's not crowded, so you can walk around at your leisure. I felt that this zoo is loved by locals, including families with small children and couples. Access: Bus from Matsuyama Station Travel time: From 2 hours

The Sakanoue no Kumo Museum commemorates the famous novel by Ryotaro Shiba. The key point is that it is a masterpiece designed by Tadao Ando. You can really appreciate his aesthetics here.

Every hour on the hour, the clock tower opens with a bell ringing and a show of its own unfolds... During that time, many tourists flock here.
