Yashima is located in the northern part of Kagawa Prefecture, east of Takamatsu City, extending into the Seto Inland Sea. It is a lava highland with an altitude of 293 meters and belongs to the Seto Inland Sea National Park. The top part is flat and looks like a roof, hence the name "Yashima". If you take a walk along the walking path up the mountain, there are three observation decks, "Tanguling", "Lion's Rock" and "Yozakutei". From here, you can see the spectacular scenery, in addition to the Seto Inland Sea National Park and the Setouchi overseas. In addition, the site of the ancient battlefield where Genpei fought is also unobstructed. In addition, you can also visit the 84th Shikoku Shrine - Yashima Temple and the "Shin Yashima Aquarium", which is located in a high position in the country. Yashima Temple is the 84th Shikoku Shrine located on Yashima Mountain, a Shingon sect sect temple. Passing through the mountain gate, you can see the beautiful main hall painted in vermilion. Standing in front of you is the "Minoyama Daimyojin", which is said to be dedicated to the Yashima fox who inherited the tragic story of the Genpei war. In the courtyard, there is a "Snow Garden" built with white tuff instead of snow, and a "Treasure Museum" that displays various cultural relics from the battle between Genpei. The main hall was built in the Kamakura period (around the 13th century) and is designated as an important national cultural property.Takamatsu · 5.5km from downtown

Ritsurin Park is located in Takamatsu City and has an area of about 75ha. Construction of the garden is said to have started in 1642 and took 100 years to complete. There are 6 pools and 13 rockeries in the garden. Echoing the scenery of Ziyun Mountain at the back of the park, it seems to be a beautiful Japanese painting. In the construction process of the garden, the scenery of distant mountains is used to make it part of the structure of the garden. This method is called "borrowing scenery". The South Garden is a pure Japanese-style garden, and the small house "Jugetsu-tei" used for the tea ceremony by the pond is well-known as a good place to admire the full moon in autumn. After a large-scale reconstruction, the North Garden has become a Western-style garden.Takamatsu · 1.4km from downtown

Takamatsu Port is a key maritime gateway to the Shikoku region and is notable for being the home port of the Setouchi Triennale. The port is connected to several art islands, such as Naoshima, Teshima, and Shodoshima, with high-speed ferries running between them daily. The port area features three eye-catching permanent art installations: LiminalAir by Shinji Ohmaki, Seed Ship by Shun-ryu Lin, and the glass curtain wall of the passenger terminal designed by Yoshio Taniguchi, which are particularly eye-catching on clear days. The ferry hall has luggage lockers and the Festival Information Center, where visitors can pick up island maps in Chinese and English. The castle tower ruins of Tamamo Park are within walking distance, and it is recommended to go there in the early morning or when the ferry is docked to take in the panoramic views of the port. The breakwater on the west side of the port area is a great spot for an evening stroll, and at low tide, the remains of bollards from the Showa period can be seen.Takamatsu · 1.3km from downtown

The museum was established in 2004 as a place to contemplate nature and humanity. Located on the south side of Naoshima, the museum was designed by Tadao Ando and has a permanent exhibition of works by Claude Monet, James Turrell, and Walter De Maria. The museum was built by artists and architects who inspired each other, and the entire building can be considered a gigantic site-specific art piece.Naoshima · 13km from Takamatsu

"Ogi Island is located 1 km north of Megi Island. The island covers an area of 1.34 square kilometers, with a coastline of 5 kilometers in total and a population of about 160 people. Since there is basically no flat land on the island, the B&Bs are built on the slopes, and the sheep intestines path It runs through it. Due to the terrain, it is difficult to grow rice on the island. Before the 1950s, the islanders had been renting out cattle in exchange for rice. From Ogi Port, you can see the Toyotama Hime Shrine on the high ground, which is enshrined here. The god of easy childbirth, many tourists come here to pray for safe childbirth. There is the Ogi Island Lighthouse at the northern end of Ogi Island. The light stand is made of granite and has a beautiful appearance. The former dormitory site of the lighthouse staff has also been preserved as a lighthouse museum. There are thousands of Japanese daffodils planted on both sides of the walkway extending to the lighthouse, and these daffodils bloom every February. In 2014 Taking the opportunity of the art festival, the families who returned to Ogijima made continuous efforts to reopen elementary and middle schools that were once closed. After the school opened, the laughter of children began to reverberate in Ogijima. After that, he was attracted by Ogijima and moved there. The people here keep coming. They run restaurants, barber shops, libraries, etc., and they take root on the island. The islanders are ushering in a new fashion, and a new regional society is being formed."Takamatsu · 9.4km from downtown

Takamatsu Port is located in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, facing the Seto Inland Sea, very close to JR Takamatsu Station. It is the gateway to the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, and Naoshima, Shodoshima, Teshima, etc. can all depart from here. There are regular ferries and fast ferries. Regular ferries are slower, but cheaper, and you can bring bicycles, motorcycles, and cars on board. Fast ferries can only carry people. The port consists of a ticket office, a rest area, and a boarding pier. It is not large in scale, but has all the basic functions.

Shikoku Island has had a small population and poor resources since ancient times, and there has been no change now. Most of the historical sites that can be seen are castles, but Japanese castles are similar, and with Himeji Castle as a shining example, only some small features of seaside castles can be seen. Takamatsu Castle is in Tamamo Park, with many tall pine trees... It is a depression. When Toyotomi Hideyoshi was a younger brother of Oda Nobunaga, he fought his last battle here, and it was flooded.

It's about 45 minutes by limousine bus from Takamatsu Airport. I stayed at a hotel in front of the station. The night view is beautiful😍 Right in front of you is the Takamatsu Symbol Tower. I read online that it's open until 23:00. It's lit up. It's right in front of you as soon as you exit Takamatsu Station. Definitely check it out!

Chichu Art Museum, mainly to see Monet's paintings, the master's original works are not allowed to take pictures inside, so I took pictures of the building, which is also the work of Master Ando Tadao. At the entrance, you will pass by a Monet-style small garden. Apart from Monet's paintings, the other two exhibition halls are just so-so.

The Setouchi Triennale is held every three years, and the next one will be held here this fall. My college classmates and I enjoyed walking around the island, and although we tried to find some interesting art installations, the trip was still boring.
