Hualin Garden Scenic Area

5.6
4.4/5
65 reviews
Hualin Garden Scenic Area takes "traditional Chinese architecture, cultural exhibition halls, immersive performances, and intangible cultural heritage skills" as its four core experiences. With the mission of promoting Yellow River culture and excellent traditional Chinese culture, it has transformed a former flood detention area along the Yellow River into a picturesque treasure, establishing a cultural landmark on the riverbank. The Hualin Garden Scenic Area was master-planned and designed by a top-tier team led by Professor Wang Guixiang, director of the Institute of Architectural History and Heritage Conservation at Tsinghua University and president of the Ancient Architecture Branch of the China Yuanmingyuan Society, ensuring its supreme academic and cultural standards. The beauty of Hualin lies primarily in its realm of harmony between man and nature. Here, the essence of Chinese classical garden art is epitomized, with architecture nestled between mountains and waters, corridors and pavilions arranged in picturesque disorder, where flora and cultural elements complement each other, presenting a three-dimensional painting of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature. The beauty of Hualin is reflected in the architectural craftsmanship. Historically iconic structures from the Yellow River basin - including Cao Wei's Lingyun Terrace, Northern Wei's Yongning Temple Pagoda, Tang Dynasty's Linde Hall and Hanyuan Hall, Wu Zetian's Mingtang, Northern Song's Daqing Hall, and Southern Song's Chuigong Hall - have been meticulously reconstructed at 1:1 scale, forming a three-dimensional epic of Chinese architecture that brings millennia of splendor within reach. The beauty of Hualin lies in the majestic elegance of its garden design. The overall layout is grand and expansive, with a landscape that harmonizes the openness of northern gardens and the subtle grace of southern courtyards. Every stone, water feature, plant, and tree embodies meticulous craftsmanship, showcasing the philosophical wisdom of Chinese gardens - "crafted by human hands, yet appearing as if created by nature." The beauty of Hualin lies in its accumulation of cultural treasures. Twenty-one themed art galleries are scattered throughout the garden like pearls, gathering cultural, artistic and natural essences such as luminous pearls, blue-and-white porcelain, giant root carvings, gilded jade sculptures, imperial scholar calligraphy and paintings, and Yellow River wonderstones, making China's excellent traditional culture visible, tangible and palpable. The beauty of Hualin unfolds in the splendor of fireworks performances. With the Yellow River civilization as its soul, it presents the immersive epic show "The mighty Yellow River," the large-scale outdoor performance "The golden age of the dynasty," the water show "The spirit of the winding Yellow River," and the grand fireworks celebration, using modern artistic language to tell the captivating stories of the Yellow River. "The mighty Yellow River" is an immersive epic drama that traces the Yellow River civilization. Centered on the themes of "governing through rites and music" and "harnessing the Yellow River," the six-act performance connects the grand history from Emperor Shun of ancient times to modern river management, interpreting the enduring cultural DNA and patriotic spirit of the Chinese nation. "The golden age of the dynasty" is a grand large-scale outdoor performance in Hualin Garden, themed around the flourishing Tang Dynasty culture and Yellow River civilization. Centered on the grand court assembly and Yellow River worship ceremony held on New Year's Day during Emperor Gaozong of Tang's reign, the show breaks traditional performance boundaries within Hualin Garden's majestic Hanyuan Palace setting. It integrates ritual systems, music and dance, aerial acrobatics, and multimedia effects to create a multidimensional portrayal of prosperous ancient civilization. The water show "The spirit of the winding Yellow River" is a grand "Ode to the Yellow River civilization in light and shadow" created by the Hualin Garden scenic area. On a 180m-wide water screen resembling rice paper, it uses cutting-edge digital technology to paint and inscribe magnificent verses celebrating the Yellow River civilization. The beauty of Hualin lies in its mission of cultural heritage preservation. Adhering to the philosophy of "embracing the foreign, remembering the native, and creating the future," it integrates the thoughts, culture, art, fine arts, carvings, sculptures, murals, folk customs, garden art, and architectural art of this historical period, constructing a cross-temporal cultural heritage preservation system project. The Hualin Garden Scenic Area will become a premium cultural tourism project integrating science popularization, education, experience, and entertainment. It will also serve as a natural science education and traditional cultural education base for youth, striving to build China's most charming film and television production hub. This will create a high-quality, high-standard historical and cultural complex - a masterpiece for future generations, leaving precious cultural heritage and establishing a cultural landmark along the Yellow River.Qihe County · 7.2km from downtown

58.9k reviews
Baotu Spring is located in the bustling downtown area of Jinan, bordered by Qianfo Mountain to the south, Daming Lake attraction to the north, and connected to Quancheng Square to the east. This spring-themed garden is renowned as the "No. 1 spring under heaven" and ranks first among Jinan's "72 famous springs," with a history spanning over 2,000 years. It has also frequently appeared in literary works, most notably in Lao She's "Baotu Spring." Visitors come here to witness the spectacular sight of the three gushing springs. The main spring serves as the park's centerpiece, with its crystal-clear water gushing in three separate jets day and night, reaching several feet high during peak flow. The spring is surrounded by large stone masonry and guardrails, allowing visitors to overlook the spectacular sight of the three jets from the railings. A dark green stone tablet inscribed with "No. 1 spring" stands nearby, bearing the calligraphy of Licheng's Wang Zhonglin from the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty. In the vicinity, over thirty other famous springs are scattered, including Jinxian Spring, Shuyu Spring, Xibo Spring, Liuxu Spring, Huanghua Spring, Dukang Spring, and Bailong Spring. July and August, when local rainfall is abundant, make for the best season to observe these springs. In the height of summer, visitors can get up close with the springs in the park. Some springs have no railings around them, with stone paths in the pools where water flows over. Visitors can step into the pools to interact with the water, walking on the stone paths where their feet will get wet from the cool spring water. Besides water interaction, there are free drinking springs available for visitors by the pools. On the east side of the springs stands the Wangheting teahouse, specially catering to visitors. This springFragrant tea brewed with water at a moderate price. In addition to the springs, another highlight of the park is its magnificent south gate, adorned with grandeur and elegance. The horizontal plaque above the gate, inscribed with "Baotu Spring" in golden characters on a blue background, bears the imperial handwriting of Emperor Qianlong from the Qing Dynasty. It is acclaimed as the "first gate" of Chinese classical gardens. In previous years, seasonal water stoppages frequently occurred here, but through recent conservation efforts, normal water levels have been largely restored. Additionally, the attraction regularly hosts various cultural events. Every year on the first day of the lunar new year, a lantern festival is held for 20 days. In late September, there's a spring water culture festival lasting about 10 days, featuring folk activities, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and traditional opera performances for visitors to enjoy. From late October to late November, a chrysanthemum exhibition takes place where the golden fall scenery of gushing springs and blooming chrysanthemums creates a spectacular sight well worth seeing. In addition, the attraction has launched a cruise route. After visiting the attraction, interested visitors can board the cruise at the dock, passing through the west gate bridge in Jinan's old town, the east gate of Wulongtan Park, and entering Wulongtan Lock, Jinan's first passenger ship lock in history, where they can experience a drop of over 2 m. Sitting on the east side of the boat, visitors can also see the relief of "Jinan's eight scenic views". The riverbanks along the route are lined with aquatic plants, and the water is crystal clear. The cruise finally passes through Yanbo Bridge and enters the Daming Lake attraction.Jinan · 26.3km from Qihe County

The Best Spring In The World is located in downtown Jinan, featuring "one river (the moat), one lake (Daming Lake), three springs (the Baotu Spring, Heihu Spring, and Wulongtan spring clusters), and four parks (Baotu Spring Park, Huancheng Park, Wulongtan Park, and Daming Lake Park)." The attraction centers around Baotu Spring, renowned as the "No. 1 Spring Under Heaven." Its waters flow into rivers and converge into lakes, harmoniously blending with the ancient Mingfu City. To the north lies Wulongtan (Five Dragon Pool), while to the east stretches Jinan's Huancheng Park (home to the Black Tiger Spring and other springs), both highly celebrated in Jinan. These springs boast exceptional water quality. Daming Lake, a natural lake formed by the convergence of numerous springs, receives water from its southern shore. When full, the water flows out through the Northern Water Gate, built during the Song Dynasty on the lake's north shore. The lakebed consists of impermeable igneous rock, preventing flooding during heavy rains or drought. Often described as "a confluence of springs merging to embrace the Jiluo region," it's hailed as the "Pearl of the Spring City." Similarly, the moat formed by spring waters encircles the ancient city like a jade belt, offering scenic cruise rides along its course. The attraction boasts stunning natural scenery and rich cultural heritage, featuring not only springs, rivers, and lakes but also numerous historical landmarks. Highlights include the Chaoran Tower dating back to the Yuan Dynasty and the Luoyuan Hall originally built during the Northern Wei Dynasty (now a Ming-era structure). Historical sites include the Luoshang Terrace, the former residence site of Qin Qiong, and the Beishui Gate. Notable former residences include the Nanfeng Ancestral Hall, Jiaxuan Ancestral Hall, Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall and Yi'an Old Residence, Tiegong Ancestral Hall, and Lao She Memorial Hall. Red tourism sites include the Jinan Massacre Memorial and the former site of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.Jinan · 27.5km from Qihe County

Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area

4.7/5
12k reviews
Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Jinan's city center and is one of the three major attractions in Jinan. Before the Zhou Dynasty, it was called Lishan Mountain. Legend has it that Emperor Shun cultivated farmland at its base, hence it's also known as Shungeng Mountain. During the Sui Dynasty's Kaihuang era, numerous Buddha statues were carved along the mountain slopes, and the "Thousand Buddha Temple" was built, giving rise to its current name. In 1959, it was developed into a park, recognized as a provincial-level scenic area in 1995, rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction in 2005, and designated as a national scenic area in 2017. The Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area covers an area of 164.88 hectares, with its highest peak reaching 285m in elevation. Its undulating ridges create a picturesque and magnificent landscape. Qing Dynasty writer Liu E once vividly described it in "The Travels of Lao Can" as "resembling a grand painting by Song Dynasty artist Zhao Qianli, stretched across the horizon like a magnificent screen spanning dozens of miles." Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area boasts a profound historical and cultural heritage, centered around the culture of Emperor Shun, Buddhist traditions, and natural ecology. It stands as a renowned mountain where Buddhist culture and imperial heritage coexist. As one of the birthplaces of Shun culture, the mountain gained fame when Emperor Shun cultivated its slopes. The attraction preserves cultural landmarks like Lishan Academy, Shun Temple, Three Saints Hall, Dushun Stone Garden, and Lishan Origins. Its Buddhist heritage dates back to the Sui and Tang dynasties, with notable sites including Xingguo Temple and the Thousand Buddha Cliff carvings. The scenic area features exceptional natural beauty with ancient trees and attractions like Chrysanthemum Viewing, Lishan Panorama, Ancient Scholar Tree, Southern Red Cliffs, and Ciyun Exploration. Distinctive folk traditions include the March 3rd Temple Fair and September 9th Mountain Festival, both recognized as intangible cultural heritage. Combining rich cultural significance with abundant natural resources and prominent geographical value, this urban mountain landscape serves as Jinan's "city balcony," "natural oxygen bar," and "ecological paradise," offering residents leisure and fitness opportunities rarely found within a metropolitan area. In recent years, the Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area has achieved remarkable development. Since 2011, annual environmental upgrades have enhanced ecological landscaping, highlighted historical and cultural themes, and elevated the overall views and cultural value of the attraction. In 2013, the Qilu Stele Culture Garden—a Jinan-based theme park showcasing Shandong's finest stone inscriptions—was built at the mountain's southern foot. Since 2014, to promote Shun culture, attractions like the South Wind Pavilion, Homesickness Pavilion, Qingyun Pavilion, and Lishan Origins were added, forming a 10-site Shun culture trail with distinctive Spring City characteristics. This integration of history, culture, and scenery has created a comprehensive, large-scale destination beloved by visitors.Jinan · 29.1km from Qihe County

It's really great, especially the parade and fireworks show; definitely worth going. The only downside is that many rides require a height of 1.4 meters or more, so kids who aren't tall enough can't participate.

The Chinese version of Disneyland has decent attractions and is quite fun. It gets very crowded during the Spring Festival, so you can enter as soon as it opens and stay until closing time. There's something for both adults and children. The drone and fireworks shows at night are also good. However, the downside is obvious: after watching the fireworks, you can't get out of the parking lot due to severe traffic congestion!

The scenic area is indeed beautiful, and the night view and fireworks are breathtaking. Given its fame, it's definitely worth a visit (overall, the scenery is superb). However, I must offer a suggestion regarding the experience: the scenic area is enormous. Early in the morning, trying to rent an electric scooter or bicycle was impossible – not a single one could be found! With such a large influx of visitors, the number of available vehicles was pitifully small; even paying money didn't guarantee a rental, making walking extremely tiring. While the official sightseeing buses were decent, their numbers also need to be increased. I hope the scenic area can provide more rental vehicles to prevent visitors from becoming exhausted from the transportation problem.

First, it's truly unique! Unlike other amusement parks, Fantawild Oriental Myths skillfully blends traditional Chinese culture, myths, and legends with high-tech attractions. We enjoyed "Legend of Nüwa," where we followed the goddess Nuwa as she journeyed through the heavens and earth, mending the heavens and saving the world. The combination of 4D effects and a dynamic rail car was an incredible experience, and my kids exclaimed, "It's so cool!" Then there's "Legend of the Butterfly," a four-sided magical theater that beautifully and powerfully depicts the story of Liang Zhu. Even my mom was moved. This experience of experiencing the charm of Chinese culture while having fun is truly unique. Second, the diverse attractions are perfect for all ages! · Thrill-seekers absolutely can't miss the "Jungle Dragon" wooden roller coaster. The high-speed plunges and twists of the ride, and the roar and swaying of the wooden structure are incredibly thrilling and incredibly relaxing! · A top choice for families: I took my kids to the "Boonie Bears Theater," and they danced with joy, feeling like they were stepping into a cartoon. There are also rides like "Star Chariot" and "Wave Train," perfect for younger children. Cultural Immersion: The large-scale stage play "Meng Jiangnu" was deeply moving, with top-notch stage effects and performances. The grand spectacle is truly worth a visit. The bungee jumping attraction within the Leifeng Pagoda is thrilling and ties in perfectly with the theme of the Legend of the White Snake, boasting a truly creative experience! As for the service and other aspects: The park was exceptionally clean, and the staff were welcoming and proactive in greeting and providing directions. Restrooms and rest areas were plentiful and convenient. We had lunch within the park, and while the food options were quite varied and a bit pricey, the food was both tasty and generous. Tip: We recommend downloading the "Fantawild Travel" app in advance. This app provides real-time maps, wait times, and showtimes, allowing you to plan your itinerary and save time. Summary: Jinan Fantawild Oriental Myths is an underrated gem! More than just an amusement park, it's an immersive "world of Eastern mythology" for the whole family. Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a senior citizen fascinated by cultural stories, or just innocent children, everyone can find their own joy here. I have recommended it to my friends and will come again next time I have the chance!

We accompanied a family member to Qilu Hospital for a medical appointment and chose this Ji Hotel. It's very close to the hospital, less than a ten-minute walk, which is very convenient. The room was clean and tidy, and the environment was quiet, allowing for a good rest. There's also a laundry and fitness area. The front desk was responsive, and check-in was smooth, making it ideal for accompanying family members to medical appointments. Most importantly, parking is convenient.

I go there every year. The rafting is very long and there is almost no sun. There are many slides suitable for children. The wave pool is very large and fun. There is also an infinity pool. There are bubble activities and musical performances in the park. However, there are many height and weight restrictions for the exciting activities.

This was my first time visiting Baotu Spring. I went in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, so the experience wasn't too bad. The three springs were bubbling away, and the water was crystal clear. No wonder it's called the City of Springs! 👍

Thousand Buddha Mountain is a famous scenic spot in Jinan. The mountain isn't very high, and it doesn't take long to reach the top. From the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Jinan; the scenery is beautiful, and it gets quite crowded. The area inside is very comfortable and cool. There are many historical buildings, making it worth a visit.
