A Suocheng is half of Yantai's history.
Suocheng is the earliest birthplace of Yantai, and it retains a large number of traditional residential buildings from the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. The restored West Gate (Xuanhua Gate) overlooks the 600-year-old ancient city, with blue bricks and black tiles, and ancient charm.
Going south from Xuanhua Gate is Guangxing Orchard, a Yantai apple store founded in 1872, which cultivated China's first apple. The courtyard is full of trumpet creepers on the walls, and the apple fragrance is fragrant. Taste a cup of freshly squeezed apple juice, which is sweet and sour, rich in apple fragrance, and full of surprise.
Going further, it is Shiyan Street, formerly known as Shiban Street. It was built in 1398 and named after the stone paving. After hundreds of years of erosion and grinding by cars and horses, it is still solid and wear-resistant. It was renamed Shiyan Street in 1933. Intangible cultural heritage, quaint homestays, oil-paper umbrellas swaying in the wind, and coffee shops can be seen everywhere in the ancient streets, exuding the imprint of time and the atmosphere of fireworks.
There are also leisure places such as Fujian Guild Hall, Chaoyang Street, and Wanda Plaza around, which are very convenient for walking.
