Putra Mosque is also known as the "Floating Mosque" because about three-quarters of the building extends over Putrajaya Lake. The exterior is predominantly pink, constructed largely from rose-colored granite, and features nine domes. Construction began in 1997, and it can accommodate over 10,000 worshippers at once, making it one of the most recognizable landmarks in Putrajaya. The mosque consists mainly of three parts: the prayer hall, the courtyard, and the learning and functional spaces. The roof of the prayer hall resembles an open umbrella, composed of 49 domes of varying sizes arranged in a radial pattern, with a design inspired by Islamic architectural traditions. The minaret next to the mosque is tall and slender, with a rocket-shaped spire, and is equipped with elevators and stairs to reach the top. The entire mosque is designed to take full advantage of natural ventilation from the lake, with lake breezes passing through the corridors and vertical grilles to keep the interior cool. Viewed from the opposite shore, the pink domes and their reflection in the lake create a picturesque scene.Putrajaya · 37.6km from Seremban

Batu Caves is a cave temple complex formed by limestone hills and is one of the most famous Hindu pilgrimage sites outside of India. This karst cave complex contains over 20 known caves, with the larger Temple Cave housing the Hindu deity of war, Murugan. It is also the central venue for Malaysia's Thaipusam festival, which attracts a large number of Hindu devotees for pilgrimage every year. At the foot of the hill stands a gilded statue of Murugan, approximately 42.7 m high and entirely gold-plated, serving as an iconic landmark of the scenic area. Next to the statue is a colorful rainbow staircase, requiring a climb of 272 steps to reach the cave entrance. Flocks of pigeons often gather on both sides of the stairs, and the plaza is dotted with multiple Hindu statues and colorful decorations. After entering the Temple Cave, walking deep along the towering cave walls, sunlight pours in from natural openings in the cave ceiling, illuminating the rock walls and Hindu shrines, with exquisite statues of Hindu deities distributed throughout the cave. The Cave Villa complex at the foot of the hill consists of the Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave, displaying statues and murals based on Hindu mythology. To the left of the main staircase is the Ramayana Cave - Suyambu Lingam, with a tall statue of Hanuman standing at the entrance, and murals inside the cave depicting classic scenes from the Indian epic "Ramayana." Stalactites, stalagmites, and other karst geological features can be seen on the cave walls, and the caves are also home to various bats and other cave-dwelling creatures. A rock climbing route has been opened on the northeast side of the hill, attracting many rock climbing enthusiasts to take on the challenge.Batu Caves · 64.8km from Seremban

National Mosque of Malaysia

1.1k reviews
National Mosque of Malaysia is located right next to the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and is situated in the green space beside the Lake Gardens. It was completed in 1965. "Negara" means "national" in Malay, and the name commemorates the new nation's peaceful path to independence. Unlike common mosques with onion-shaped domes, it follows a clean and crisp modernist style, using concrete and marble to create a sense of open space, making it stand out among the city's many old Moorish-style buildings. The main dome of the prayer hall is particularly worth seeing: the 16-pointed star-shaped concrete roof resembles a giant open umbrella, radiating outward from the center. Beside it stands a minaret approx. 73 m high, with a top that looks like a closed umbrella, often described by visitors as resembling a rocket. The entire complex can accommodate over 10,000 worshippers at once. After major renovations in the 1980s, the roof was tiled with blue and green tiles, which pair neatly with the white columns.Kuala Lumpur · 55.1km from Seremban

Petaling Street Market is a vibrant market in the old town of Kuala Lumpur, often visited as the city's Chinatown. The name Petaling Street originates from a tapioca mill established on the street by Yap Ah Loy, a founding father of Kuala Lumpur. Today, long green awnings cover the street, with stalls lined up one after another, offering a wide variety of clothing, watches, bags, accessories, and souvenirs. After nightfall, vendors light up their stalls and the crowds surge. The aroma of snacks fills the air, and you might occasionally encounter street performers. The lively, festive atmosphere is truly bustling.Kuala Lumpur · 55km from Seremban

The Masjid Selat Melaka is located on the artificial island of Malacca. If the water level is high, it looks like a floating building. The Straits Mosque under the sunset is very beautiful. Prime Minister's Office is situated on a hill in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia, and is the government building where the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia work, known locally as "Perdana Putra". The building was completed and opened in 1999. It blends various architectural styles, including Malay, Islamic, and Palladian, with columns that carry a hint of Mughal flair, and Eastern and exotic elements coexist on the same facade, which is quite fascinating upon closer inspection. The building commands a view from above, facing the expansive Putrajaya Square, with Putrajaya Lake just beyond it. Looking back from the center of the square, the dome and colonnade can be captured in a single frame, making it a classic photo spot.Putrajaya · 37.6km from Seremban

Located on the seaside in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, it is only an hour and a half drive from Kuala Lumpur. After working in the city for a long time, if you want to relax by watching the sea and sunset, this is the best choice. On weekends, many ethnic compatriots will set up tents and camp here, listening to the sound of the waves and watching the sunset. The only drawback is that the water is not clean. If you have a choice, it is not recommended to play in the water at the beach. . There is also a museum nearby that records the history of Malaysia. It is worth visiting with children. Admission is free!

Genting Highlands is really popular among locals. It is packed with people every weekend and holiday. There are several hotels all over Genting Highlands, including three-star, four-star and five-star hotels. Moreover, the hotel group is very generous and provides free rooms (but certain conditions must be met). This "free" strategy can also attract tourists to come and consume frequently.

Independence Square (Dataran Merdeka) in Kuala Lumpur is a historic landmark where Malaysia’s independence was declared in 1957. This expansive green field, flanked by colonial-era buildings, offers a striking view of the iconic Sultan Abdul Samad Building with its Moorish-style architecture and clock tower. The square’s 95-meter flagpole—one of the tallest in the world—stands proudly as a symbol of national pride. Surrounded by museums, churches, and the River of Life, it’s a perfect spot for leisurely walks and photography. Both by day and night, Independence Square captures the spirit of Malaysia’s heritage and modern unity, making it a must-visit city highlight.

When visiting Malacca, one always wants to see the world-famous Straits of Malacca with their own eyes, to keep a promise to sail across the Straits. A special trip was made to the Floating Mosque, just to gaze upon this busy shipping lane. The sea was vast, and the sea breeze was strong. The architecture wasn't as stunning as expected, but the view of this strait was enough to leave a lasting impression. ✨
