The free hiking trail is a test of your physical strength. Please do it according to your ability. We are two middle-aged and elderly people who drive by ourselves. We read a lot of reviews in advance before determining the route. The trail goes around the foot of the hill. Most of it is paved with cement, and there are also several sections of the original mud and stone of the ancient trail. We chose the Huangcun entrance to enter, where there is a formal park entrance and free parking. Please note that you should not park at the Ziyun Valley Ferry before reaching the Huangcun entrance. In addition to the fee, it is 2km away from the park entrance. We first climbed a flight of stairs, walked through the bamboo forest, and turned a corner after about ten minutes to look at the West River. We started from the No. 44 lighthouse and the pole pit and walked around the river, looking at the canyon, and walked back to the Longmen Post. Looking across the river from the Wenshu Ancient Village, we learned about the sad legend of the husband's return, especially the sentence that the wife asked every time she saw a boat passing by from upstream, "Has my husband returned?" Every word was tearful, and I couldn't help but reply, "Your husband has returned." There are two waterfront docks in this section. You can walk to the riverside to see the vast river and the long green mountains, and sigh that the world has changed, but the green mountains have not changed and the green water has flowed forever. On the return trip, we passed the No. 44 lighthouse and turned down the mountainside, visited the ancient artillery platform, and looked at the anti-Japanese monument on the mountainside opposite the river mouth. The round trip was about 10 kilometers, and it took more than an hour to walk slowly. The sun was shining brightly that day, and it was hot. We started walking around 3 pm. Occasionally, there was a small section without shade, but most of the time there were mountains and trees to shade the sun, but we were still sweating all over the body, so it was right to hike in the afternoon. Another thing is to bring enough water. We underestimated it and only brought 2 bottles of 550mL. We planned to replenish it for 2 people back and forth. The experience summary is not enough. Although we deliberately drank in small sips, we were already thirsty and exhausted in the second half of the return trip.
