Highlights: A few years ago, most tourists came to Penang to find all kinds of food, but now many tourists come here to find those famous murals and iron sculpture cartoons in the historical area, and queuing to take pictures with them has become a It is a must-have item for many tourists to come here. About 5 years ago, Ernest Zacharevic, a Lithuanian artist, came to the century-old street in Penang. At first, it was just an unintentional backpacking trip, but he did not expect it to become his creative base, and even more unexpectedly gave Penang Old Street different from the vitality of the past. His mural is a work of art from MirrorsGeorgetown. In 2012, in order to coincide with Penang's celebration of the 4th anniversary of George Town's entry into the World Cultural Heritage, the Penang Arts Council listed "George Town Mirror" as one of the celebration activities. Officially, because of such a celebration, so many works of life are displayed in front of us. Penang's murals are scattered in the streets and alleys of George Town, and you can see it when you walk around the streets. According to the map, you can connect some scenic spots and murals to design a reasonable play route. If you don’t have enough time, you can also choose to ride a bicycle or take a human-powered tricycle. The cost of renting a bicycle is about 70 yuan a day, and the cost of a tricycle is 40 ringgit an hour. The advantage of the rickshaw is that the drivers are all locals, who are relatively familiar with these murals, and it saves time to play. Tour Guide Whether it is from the Everbright Building, Surname Bridge or Love Lane, it is a good sightseeing route. At present, there are more than 20 murals and 52 iron sculpture cartoons in George Town, which are distributed on the streets of LebuhChulia, LebuhAhQuee, LebuhVictoria and LebuhArmenian. Ernest Zacharevic has 8 murals here. "Photo with the Old Man" on LebuhArmenian Street, this is his first work, the fresco has begun to fade due to the age. There is also a well-known copy of "Sister and Brother Riding Together" on this street. In the picture, an older sister who is not very skilled in driving takes her excited and nervous younger brother on a bicycle and does not know where to go. Many tourists will put out the action of pushing the back seat of the bicycle, or the action of actually riding the bicycle behind them, which is very interesting. In addition, several well-known works are "Broken Heart" by Love Lane, "Kung Fu Girl" by LebuhMuntri, "The Boy Who Chased the Wind" by LebuhAhQuee Street, and "The Resting Tricycle Driver" by PenangRoad Wait. Today, in addition to the original murals, Chinese painter Chen Yukang has created many art works about cats together with the "101 Lost Cats" organization. In addition, Penang also has a "Sign George Town Project", which uses comic-style iron sculpture murals to tell the legends of the old street or the life of the citizens. A total of 52 iron plastic cartoons for the "Sign George Town Project" are the works of SculptureAtWork, a local art group that won the "Sign George Town Project" competition. As long as you walk on the streets of Penang, you will always find many vivid and interesting cartoons, which will add some childishness to the nostalgic Penang.

No need to take photo behind the glass at the observatory, as you can take them at the top without the glass and glare. As far as I know, there seems to be no time limit up there, so you can take your own sweet time and wait for the crowd to thin and get nice shot during sunset or night time."

Once you step into the mansion, you will feel the vibes that how Peranakan people live in Malaysia long long time ago. The museum entrance fees RM25 including tour both in Mandarin or English. The guide will tour you around the house and tell you the history of Baba and Nyonya. Highly recommended you are in Georgetown!Never forget that the Singapore drama - Little Nyonya (also the latest China version) scene are took from this mansion!"
    George Town
    1.3km from downtown
Highlights: This traditional indigenous Chinese residence is a typical 19th century Baba Nyonya house decorated with Chinese hardwood furniture inlaid with mother-of-pearl and carved with a mix of Chinese, Victorian and Dutch patterns. Since Zheng Chenggong's voyage to the West, a large number of Chinese have arrived in Nanyang and settled down. Chinese men married mixed-race children born to Malay women. The men were called Baba and the women were called Nyonya. At the same time, the fusion of traditional Chinese culture and Malay culture came into being. A new cultural system is Nyonya culture. The Nyonya Museum is the filming location of Yue's family in the TV series "Little Nyonya". It is the ancestral home of a famous local Baba family. The first-generation owner started out selling spices, and the current owner is the fourth-generation Baba. The whole family lives in Kuala Lumpur and took out their ancestral home to build this private museum.

"This Jetties very popular and all visit penang will go to take a look how the local fishermen stay and work at penang. Their house also very unique and all above the seawater."
    George Town
    1.2km from downtown
Highlights: The surname bridge does not refer to a single bridge, but a general term for many bridges. Back then, the Chinese went to Penang to engage in trade and fishing, and lived on the sea, so they built bridges and built houses on them, forming unique small villages. Because people with the same surname live in the same bridge, it is called the surname bridge. The houses of the family are built on the sea, the bottom is supported by piles, and the bridges are laid with wooden boards as the streets of the village, connecting with the land. A hundred years later, these huts still exist, next to the Penang port, watching the ships come and go, and continue to write legends. Now there are surnames Wang Qiao, Lin Qiao, Zhou Qiao, Chen Qiao, Li Qiao, miscellaneous Qiao Qiao and Yang Qiao. This surname bridge has survived to this day amid the constant debate over whether it should be demolished or not.

"This Museum shows us what to expect. I still often think about this Museum and remember how fun and cool this was. I would definitely come check out the Museum during your stay in Georgetown"
    George Town
    1.3km from downtown
Highlights: The WonderFoodMuseum, a food paradise, has finally welcomed its first food museum in Penang, but the food here can only be seen, not eaten, because all the food on display here are fake and "exaggerated" versions of simulated food models . WonderFoodMuseum is to take you through the food of Penang. The food displayed in the museum includes Chinese food, Malay food, Indian food and traditional Baba Nyonya food. Not just gourmet food, but even food models larger than people. The curator also said that in order to encourage support for the anti-eating shark fin movement, the museum specially displayed slaughtered sharks and shark fins in one area to bring out the message with a three-dimensional effect. Because only a living example can let the public know such delicious food, and then there is a huge price to pay. There is also a mini "sister and brother riding together" in the museum, so tourists can hunt for treasures and find this little surprise. In the future, a map of Penang food will be displayed in the museum, and tourists can directly find local food on the map after visiting.

"Love Lane is located in Macau, named in 1835, and its Portuguese expression is a desire and respect for religion, while the Chinese name reveals a romantic atmosphere of love. The houses in the lane are built on the hillside, around the beginning of the twentieth century. The houses in the lanes are a mix of neoclassical and modernist architectural styles. After the renovation, the pink, blue and yellow buildings are fresh and romantic."
    George Town
    842m from downtown
Highlights: Love Alley is an alley that is no more than one mile long. It is named because people in the past thought that they could see the sea when they walked out of this alley. This path is also a backpacker's paradise, and it also has a lot of guest houses and a variety of snacks. At the same time, it is also a very good start to experience the slow life of Penang. Walking on the street in the afternoon sunshine, whether it is the flowers and plants on the side of the road or the cat doing nothing like you, it is a beautiful encounter.

"Check in at Lebuh Queen(Queen Street), Little India is nearby, Little India is the Indian shopping and dining district, mainly concentrated in Lebun Pasar and Lebun King, all Indian shops. I started from Super OYO 998 Queen City, walked through several blocks, and went to Lebun Penang. Many street shops have business services such as men's and women's clothing shoes and hats, luggage department stores, flowers, catering, etc. Although I did not enter the store, but after several streets, many stores will play music, solicit customers, full of Indian style."
    George Town
    1.1km from downtown
Highlights: Little India Penang, like other Little Indias around the world, is full of Indian flair and makes you feel like you are in India. The location of Little India was originally a Chinese settlement. Thirty or forty years ago it was still part of Chinatown. Later, with the migration of the Chinese, Indian businessmen and laborers continued to immigrate and take root here, and gradually formed a huge community, which became today's Little India. This is one of the lively areas in the city, with South Indian shops and small vendors lined on both sides. In this street full of strong Indian flavors, beautiful and pleasant Indian music is flying everywhere, bright and fashionable saris, clothing, flower crowns , trinkets, earrings, necklaces, decals, spices and sandalwood that India is good at... everything. I tried traditional Indian food, mainly curry, with some fried chicken, fried fish and vegetables, etc. We were the only ones who used utensils, and we all ate it with our hands.
