Italo train classes & fares
Italo train classes
Italo’s high-speed trains offer comfortable seating, modern toilets, and spacious carriages. In addition, you can choose from three different classes:
Club Executive Class
The most exclusive carriage on Italo trains is Club Executive and is a must if you value comfort, privacy and convenience. The experience begins before you even board, with Club Executive passengers able to access the Italo Club Lounges at the station before your journey. You'll then benefit from Fast Track boarding when the train's about to depart.
Once you're on board, you can kick back and relax with wide leather seats that recline as the crew serve you a selection of Italian food and drink, with the menu tailored to the time of day. The free Wi-Fi and entertainment is ideal for passing the time, too. Is work on the cards? The Salotto cabin is a private space where you can hold meetings away from other passengers.
As for luggage, there are no weight, piece or size restrictions to what you can take.
Prima Business Class
In Prima Business Class, a comfortable journey awaits with wide reclining leather seats, extra legroom and your own armrest. Each seat has power outlets so you can keep your devices charged and there's ample space to store your bags. As a Prima Business Class passenger, you'll enjoy Fast Track boarding at the station, too.
Throughout the journey, the crew serve a wide selection of Italian snacks (both savory and sweet) plus coffee, tea and cold drinks straight to your seat. You can connect to the free Wi-Fi to browse the internet and scroll through social media on the way. There's also the Italo Live Portal entertainment system with a selection of movies and shows to watch for free.
Smart Class
Smart Class promises a functional and practical train ride and as a passenger you'll enjoy reclining leather seats with footrests and side tables, plus individual charging points. If you're feeling peckish, head to the Snack Area where the vending machines offer a selection of Italian treats, coffees and cold drinks.

Luggage Allowance
You can bring as many bags as you want on Italo trains for free. Just keep in mind that in Smart Class, bags shouldn't exceed 75 x 53 x 30 cm in size. There are no size restrictions for Prima Business and Club Executive. When you're onboard, you can store your bags in the dedicated luggage spaces at the end of each carriage, or in the overhead racks above your seat.
Travelling with Children
Kids between 0 and 36 months go for free on Italo trains, as long as they don't take up a seat. If you fancy a more comfortable journey, you can buy a seat for your infant. There are also discounts available for children under 14 when travelling with an accompanying adult — some fare types even allow them to travel for free. Best of all, these special prices are built into the search results on Trip.com with no need for an Italo promo code.
Pets
Pets are allowed on Italo trains — you'll just need to follow a few simple rules to take your four-legged companion with you. Small pets are free (up to one per passenger) as long as you keep them in a carrier for the duration of the journey. If you've got a larger animal that doesn't fit into a carrier, then you'll need to pay a small fee when booking. They'll then need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Food & Drink
There are plenty of options on Italo trains when it comes to food and drink. In Club Executive, you'll enjoy a full catering service at your seat, including delicious Italian food that fits the time of day, and alcoholic drinks at lunch and dinner. Passengers in Prima Business benefit from complimentary snacks and drinks at their seats, while those in Smart Class can access the vending machines at any time.

Whether you plan to relax or work on the way, Italo trains have all the connectivity you need. Free Wi-Fi is available in all classes and every seat has a power outlet so you can keep your devices charged throughout the journey. You can also connect to the .italo network onboard, where you'll find a vast selection of movies, series, newspapers and more designed to keep you entertained.
