When are Off-Peak Southeastern tickets valid?
Passengers with the flexibility to travel outside the busiest periods on Southeastern Railway Off-Peak times can save money on their train tickets every day of the week.
Restrictions apply and conditions vary depending on the exact route and service but there are many times that Southeastern Off-Peak tickets are valid. On weekends and Bank Holidays, passengers with a Southeastern Off-Peak ticket can travel at any time; on weekdays, Southeastern services have restrictions only for some journeys made in the morning.
Specifically, for passengers travelling from Kent and East Sussex into London, in most cases Off-Peak tickets are valid on trains that arrive into London after 10am. In the other direction, if you are travelling from London to Kent and East Sussex, Southeastern Off-Peak times are for trains departing from London after 9.30am.
Other restrictions apply, so it is always best to check specific conditions before you travel.
Types of Off-Peak Southeastern tickets
Southeastern offer four different types of Off-Peak tickets:
- Off-Peak Single, valid for one journey on any Off-Peak train
- Off-Peak Day Return, valid for one day on Off-Peak trains with the return journey on the same day
- Off-Peak Return, with which the return journey must be made within one calendar month on an Off-Peak train
- Super Off-Peak, valid for travel after 10am on Monday to Friday and anytime at weekends or Bank Holidays
