Single-parent families can also access discounts on Rodalies trains in Catalonia with a valid certificate from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Children aged 4 to 13 receive a 40% discount on ticket fares with Renfe. They are entitled to choose seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and can make changes or get refunds based on the ticket type, potentially incurring a fee. Children under four travel for free but do not have a reserved seat. Note that, on Cercanías trains, the free travel age limit without a seat is under six years old.
