Taoist Temple of Zhao Gao

Zhao Gao Temple is located in the Tiantai Mountain Canyon, formerly known as Tiantai Temple, and the existing buildings were rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. According to legend, Zhao Xiangzi of Jin State trapped his brother-in-law on behalf of King Zhao Gao, and Zhao Gao fled and lived in seclusion here and became a monk. Many of the temples are built on smooth stone walls. If you want to enter, you need to climb up along the iron cables. The terrain is very steep. The existing Zhao Gao Temple can be divided into two groups of caves, north and south. The North Cave is the main part of the building, and there are three main halls in the central area, with the north facing south. Originally a Taoist statue of Sanqing, it was later changed to the Three Buddhas by Buddhism. On the left and right ear halls, there are three east and west side halls, and one in the south pavilion. Two of the more distinctive ones are the "five-story building" and "three-story pavilion" in Beidong. The five-story building is built on the outer end of the stone crack, and the cave is dug along the cliff. There are iron ropes in the pavilion, and the iron ropes can be climbed up. The three pavilions are on the east side of the five-story building, also known as the Nine Fairies Pavilion, with statues of nine fairies. There is a clay statue of Zhao Gao outside the Arrow Pavilion.  Zhao Gaoguan's more precipitous landscape "Xiange Dengyun" is built on the height of the craggy peak, halfway up the mountain, with three floors. At a glance, the high pavilion is suspended in the air, the cliffs are up, the cliffs are down, and the rocks on the left and right are like knives. There is absolutely no way to go up and down. An iron cable about 20 meters long hangs down from the cave, which becomes a way to enter the cave. This iron cable is known as the "Xiange Cloud Ladder". The other part of Zhao Gao Temple is in the southern half of the mountain. It is also a natural grotto. There is a "Zizai Nunnery" in the grotto, and there are statues of Guanyin and eighteen Arhats. In the cave, there are 18 stone carvings of Guanyin rescuing the Eight Difficulties in the Ming Dynasty, which are very precious.
