Inner Mongolia was an absolute dream in the dessert. you think you’re going to experience the simplicity of the vast land but of course there’s 1000 different activities to do. we went on rollercoasters, into the water park, slid down sand dunes and rode ATV’s for $7CAD. A day trip to Xiangsha Bay is very tempting.🌴 Xiangsha Bay is located within the territory of Dalad Banner in Ordos 👉 30 minutes by taxi from Dalad Banner 👉 1 hour by taxi from Baotou East Railway Station 👉 1 hour by taxi from Ordos 👉 2.5 hours by car from Hohhot There is no bus service in between, so you can only drive or charter a car, which is inconvenient and not cost-effective in terms of transportation expenses 🌴 Today I will share a strategy with you, a day trip from Hohhot to Xiangsha Bay❤. To avoid the crowds, we need to consider choosing a less popular place—Baotou. 📍Saihan Tala Urban Grassland 🎟️Free This is the only urban grassland in China, and it's free, which makes it very worthwhile to visit. The scenic area is quite large, and it might be difficult to walk through it all, so you can choose to take a sightseeing car or, if you want to exercise, rent a bicycle to ride. 📍Wudangzhao 🎟️55 yuan Who would have thought that you could visit a famous Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia? Wudangzhao is located deep in the Daqing Mountains of the Shiguai District in Baotou, and is one of the four famous Tibetan Buddhist temples in China. The Wudangzhao architectural complex consists of eight major scripture halls (six of which still exist), three monks' residences, and a spirit hall for the stupa that enshrines the relics of past living Buddhas. Touring the entire temple takes two to three hours, and sometimes you can even listen to many historical stories behind it with the help of a tour group's guide. 📍Chunkun Mountain 🎟️45 yuan Although it is far from the city center and the mountain roads are rugged, taking more than two hours, Chunkun Mountain and Wudangzhao are on the same route, so you can plan to visit Wudangzhao in the morning and then head to Chunkun Mountain in the afternoon. But you can play with the sand to your heart's content here, and the feeling of sliding down from a super high place is also very thrilling. 📍Northern Weapon City Ticket: 15 yuan Located outside the factory area of Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd., this is a military-themed park. Inside there are various cannons, airplanes, and tanks, which are the favorites of children. 📍Gold Street There is also a glittering pedestrian street in the downtown area of Baotou, called Gold Street. There are all kinds of snacks available here, and there was even a free singing performance the night we went. Standing at the intersection to take pictures, someone said: 'This place is really no worse than Xi'an.' It seems that the pedestrian street of Xi'an's Datang Everbright City has become a benchmark for the country. 🍜Ma Shoujiang Baotou Old Restaurant This is a quite famous Mongolian restaurant chain. For our first try, we ordered hand-grabbed lamb, milk tea, shaomai, and tea soup, etc. The lamb is very fragrant and tender, without a strong mutton smell. The Old Donghe tea soup is thick and smooth in texture, with a sweet and sour taste. The shaomai has a thin skin and is filled with a lot of stuffing, and it is fragrant with every bite. I thought I might not be used to the taste of milk tea, but it unexpectedly became my favorite in this restaurant. It has a rich salty and fragrant taste, and the milk flavor is very strong. It also contains fried Sanzi and dried beef, which are soaked until soft and delicious, melting in the mouth. 🍜Ximeng Renjia This is an even more authentic Mongolian restaurant, located on Fuqiang Road. This time we specifically ordered some traditional Mongolian hard dishes: horse intestines, blood sausages, and stuffed stomach meat. But we overestimated our ability to accept them. The blood sausage had a bit of a gamey taste, and after one bite, we didn't want to eat a second one. The horse intestines were better and edible. The stuffed stomach meat also had a gamey taste and was quite substantial; after eating two, we were already very full.

Xiangshawan in Inner Mongolia, also known as 'Yinken Xiangsha'. When the breeze slides down the 45-degree slope, the sand seems to be gently chanting. Xiangshawan is called 'Buremangha' in Mongolian, which means 'sand dune with a horn'. It is located at the eastern end of the Kubuqi Desert in the territory of Dalate Banner in Inner Mongolia. The tall sand dunes are crescent-shaped and stretch for several kilometers. The golden sand slopes are hidden under the blue sky and white clouds, presenting a magnificent scene of the vast sand sea entering the cloud sky! It's like a golden lying dragon! If you haven't seen the desert, you must go and see it once, and only after seeing it once will you know why you should respect nature. If you like photography, you must also go once, because every shot here is a blockbuster.

Whistling Dune Bay was a breathtaking desert oasis, where endless golden sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see. The resort offered a blend of natural beauty and modern comfort, with excellent facilities that enhanced the overall experience. There were lots of things to do here!!! My favourite was riding the camel! Riding a camel amidst the rolling dunes added a touch of adventure, making the visit truly memorable.
