To avoid the crowds, we need to consider choosing a less popular place—Baotou. 📍Saihan Tala Urban Grassland 🎟️Free This is the only urban grassland in China, and it's free, which makes it very worthwhile to visit. The scenic area is quite large, and it might be difficult to walk through it all, so you can choose to take a sightseeing car or, if you want to exercise, rent a bicycle to ride. 📍Wudangzhao 🎟️55 yuan Who would have thought that you could visit a famous Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia? Wudangzhao is located deep in the Daqing Mountains of the Shiguai District in Baotou, and is one of the four famous Tibetan Buddhist temples in China. The Wudangzhao architectural complex consists of eight major scripture halls (six of which still exist), three monks' residences, and a spirit hall for the stupa that enshrines the relics of past living Buddhas. Touring the entire temple takes two to three hours, and sometimes you can even listen to many historical stories behind it with the help of a tour group's guide. 📍Chunkun Mountain 🎟️45 yuan Although it is far from the city center and the mountain roads are rugged, taking more than two hours, Chunkun Mountain and Wudangzhao are on the same route, so you can plan to visit Wudangzhao in the morning and then head to Chunkun Mountain in the afternoon. If you go there before October, you may not see the lush green grass, but the continuous yellow grassland and endless mountains give people a sense of the vast wilderness. 📍Xiangshawan 🎟️120 yuan Xiangshawan is located in the triangle area of Shaanxi, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia, and is the easternmost end of China's famous Kubuqi Desert. The desert here is very vast, and there are a lot of people, and there are also many hidden costs. But you can play with the sand to your heart's content here, and the feeling of sliding down from a super high place is also very thrilling. 📍Northern Weapon City Ticket: 15 yuan Located outside the factory area of Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd., this is a military-themed park. It seems that the pedestrian street of Xi'an's Datang Everbright City has become a benchmark for the country. 🍜Ma Shoujiang Baotou Old Restaurant This is a quite famous Mongolian restaurant chain. For our first try, we ordered hand-grabbed lamb, milk tea, shaomai, and tea soup, etc. The lamb is very fragrant and tender, without a strong mutton smell. The Old Donghe tea soup is thick and smooth in texture, with a sweet and sour taste. The shaomai has a thin skin and is filled with a lot of stuffing, and it is fragrant with every bite. I thought I might not be used to the taste of milk tea, but it unexpectedly became my favorite in this restaurant. It has a rich salty and fragrant taste, and the milk flavor is very strong. It also contains fried Sanzi and dried beef, which are soaked until soft and delicious, melting in the mouth. 🍜Ximeng Renjia This is an even more authentic Mongolian restaurant, located on Fuqiang Road. This time we specifically ordered some traditional Mongolian hard dishes: horse intestines, blood sausages, and stuffed stomach meat. But we overestimated our ability to accept them. The blood sausage had a bit of a gamey taste, and after one bite, we didn't want to eat a second one. The horse intestines were better and edible. The stuffed stomach meat also had a gamey taste and was quite substantial; after eating two, we were already very full.
