There are still many remains in the Caesarea National Park. Such as: the ancient wharf built by Herod, the Crusader castle, amphitheater, temple ruins, public baths, breakwaters, racecourses, Roman viaducts, ancient city walls, etc.

The ancient city of Caesarea is located 50 kilometers north of Tel Aviv and was once Israel's largest port in the Mediterranean. With the azure blue Mediterranean and bright sunshine, the ancient city has beautiful and spectacular scenery. Caesarea means "the city of Roman emperors". It was the capital built by Herod, the monarch of the Roman Empire, in twelve years of construction two thousand years ago. The architecture here is a collection of Roman and Greek styles in accordance with Herod's preferences, making it extremely luxurious and magnificent. Caesarea was occupied by Arabs in 639 AD, and fell into the hands of the Crusaders in 1101. In 1254, King Louis IX of France rebuilt the fortifications and built the Crusader castle. After several wars and earthquakes, most of the buildings in the ancient city of Caesarea were destroyed and sank to the bottom of the sea. At the end of the 19th century, people began to carry out archaeological excavations in Caesarea. Herod’s ancient city and Crusader fortress were restored to the sky and turned into a national park.
Caesarea harbour and ancient city, a major port between Israel and Rome in ancient times, and a trading center in the Mediterranean. Caesarea is the former site of Stratonospyrgos, built by King Saida. In 90 BC, it was captured by Alexander Jannias, King of Judah, and became a Jewish city. In 63 BC, the Roman Empire conquered the city and made it autonomous. During the reign of King Herod, he vigorously built the city and changed its name to Caesarea. The ruins we see today are the deep-water artificial port, temple, market, and big lighthouse that were built here. The round arena can still be used today. The scattered stone pillars are the mark of civilization and prosperity. Don’t underestimate them. These are not local stones. They are imported stones shipped by the Romans from other places. There are also those mosaics, telling people that this was once Rome outside of Rome, and Roman nobles lived here the same luxurious life as Rome. Under the Byzantine Empire, the city is still famous for its prosperity. After several wars and earthquakes, most of the buildings collapsed or sank to the bottom of the sea. After the founding of Israel, the Rothschild family invested in the development and developed this area into a settlement dominated by tourism. It is said that many wealthy people, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, have their own big houses in Caesarea. Because there is almost no rainfall in May-November, the sun is bright, suitable for taking pictures. I also met a couple of Muslim couples taking wedding photos in the ancient city, which is very graphic. There are not many tourists and the scenery is beautiful.
