Oil derricks
There are a lot of oil derricks along one street and an interpretive sign. Nearby you can see the outside of the two neat old movie theaters (that are now closed).
There is nothing really to do here exactly unless they are having a festival downtown or something. It is nice to walk around & read about the rich history. It is very beautiful at Christmas.
If you visit the East Texas Oil Museum (an absolute must!) you will have much more of an idea how this richest acre came into being. At the museum ask if you can have a guided tour. Arrive early. R...
