Temples

Guangji Temple, one of the four famous temples in Beijing, is the Lama Temple, Tanzong Temple, Jietai Temple, Guangji Temple, of which Guangji Temple should be the most low-key one, hidden in the west side of the West Fourth Road intersection, and the north side of the inner street of Yuanchengmen. Whether it is the style of the mountain gate or the overall scale of the monastery, it can be said that it is far from the other three famous temples. For example, Tanzhao Temple covers an area of up to 1,800 mu, and the Lama Temple in the city also covers 100 mu, while Guangji Temple has only 34 mu. It does seem to be a bit "unsighty"; But Guangji Temple is an 800-year-old temple built in the Jin Dynasty. The name of the temple was also given by Ming Xianzong himself after the reconstruction of the Ming Dynasty. Mr. Sun Yat-sen also lectured here, and it has been the seat of the Chinese Buddhist Association since 1953, which can be said to have become the center of Chinese Buddhism. Guangji Temple was founded in the Jin Dynasty, originally called "Xiliucun Temple", and was built by Liu Wangyun, a man from Xiliucun in Jinzhongdu, and was one of the eleven Jindai Temples in Beijing. When the Yuan Dynasty was built, the Yuan Metropolis was built, and Xiliucun Temple became a temple in the inner city, renamed "Baoen Hongji Temple", the abbot was Wansong Xingxiu Zen Master, and there was a "Wansong Old Man Tower" in the courtyard of the Zhengyang Book Bureau not far from the south of the temple. The end of the Yuanbao Enhongji Temple was destroyed in the war. During the Ming Jingtai years, the pottery Buddha statues, porcelain, stone turtles and stone pillar tops and other things obtained by digging the ground knew that this was the site of the ancient temple. Tianshun was in the early year (1457), and the disciple Yuanhong of Puhui, Shanxi, traveled here and made a wish to revive the ancient temple. With the strong support of the fashion clothes supervisor, it took only two years to complete the renovation, and Ming Xianzong was named "Yu Ci Guangji Temple" in the second year of Chenghua (1466). During the Qing Dynasty, Shunzhi, Kangxi, Qianlong and other imperial driving to Guangji Temple left many poems and literary anecdotes, and the last emperor Puyi also came here. During the Republic of China, political and military leaders, giant businessmen, and literary talents were streamed here, and Mr. Sun Yat-sen also gave a speech here. In 1931, Guangji Temple accidentally caught fire, and the main temple was destroyed. In 1935, the abbot of the current Ming Master, with the support of Wu Peiyu and others, was rebuilt according to the pattern of the Ming Dynasty. After the founding of New China, the Guangji Temple was fully renovated in 1952 with government funding, and the Chinese Buddhist Association was established in 1953, with Guangji Temple as the meeting site. Now the open area of Guangji Temple has three entrances, the front of the mountain gate is the Temple of the Tenno, the east and west sides are the Bell and Drum Tower, there is a free incense place on the east side of the road, unattended, pick up, take one or three. In addition, there is a treasure circulation place on the east side. I went in and turned around. I asked for a string of 48 yuan. I like it very much. I only accept cash here. This entrance into the courtyard almost became a parking lot. The roadsides on both sides were full of cars. It should be staff and visitors. It is really not easy to park in the city, but the monastery is really not dignified, destroying the atmosphere, and it really affects the experience of tourists and pilgrims. The second entrance is the Grand Hall, it is said that because "the treasure is in the hall", so here is not called the "Grand Hall", there is a royal monument in front of the hall, here is also the only place in the temple that can burn incense.

Jinshui Bridge is divided into Jinshui Bridge (within the noon gate) and Jinshui Bridge (outside Tiananmen Gate). Jinshui Bridge is a single arch five-way bridge built by Han Baiyu, that is, five bridges. The one in the middle is only available to the emperor.

Jingren Palace is one of the six palaces in the East of the Palace Palace. It was built in the 18th year of Ming Yongle (1420), and the first name of Chang'an Palace and Jiajing 14th year (1535) changed its name to Jingren Palace. Jingrenmen is the main entrance of Jingren Palace. It sits north and south. There is a stone shadow wall inside the gate, which is passed as a relics of the Yuan Dynasty. The main hall is wide and five rooms, the top of the yellow glazed wash, the corners of the corners are placed with 5 animals, and the undersides are single-sided and single-ang five-stepped on the buckets, dragons and phoenixes and colorful paintings. The front and back of the Ming room opens the door, and the next room and the top are all threshold walls and threshold windows. The doors and windows are double-crossed four-flower fan. In the Ming room, the imperial title of Qianlong Emperor "Zande Palace" hangs. Jingren Palace was the residence of the Concubine in the Ming Dynasty. After the first queen of Ming Xuanzong, Hu Shanxiang, lived in the palace. During the Qing Shunzhi period, this was the residence of the Queen of Xiaokang Zhang Jiashi (then the Concubine). In March of 1654, Kangxi Emperor was born in this palace. Kangxi for 42 years (1703), and Prince Shuoyu Fuquan mourned his brother, Kangxi Emperor in this palace, and again lived in this palace. This palace has been used as the residence of the queen. The pet princess of Guangxu Emperor Zhen Tahtara also lived in this palace.

Today, November 17, I went to Beihai Park and saw the tour boat and electric/hand rowing boats parked neatly at the pier near the north gate. The management smiled and said that rowing and cruise ships stopped this year and will resume next spring.

20230820 In the light rain of the China Printing Museum, shopping at IKEA, a small museum that is temporarily intended. Need to make an appointment in advance, free! There are tickets for noon, and there are more than two o'clock, just in time for the volunteer to explain. A little girl 👧🏻 may be a student. I am very patient and have questions and answers. China Printing Museum (China Printing Museum), located at No. 25 Xinghua North Road, Huangcun, Daxing District, Beijing, is the world's largest printing professional museum. It is located in the southeast corner of the campus of Beijing Printing College. It was officially completed and opened to the public on June 1, 1996. It has ancient China printing exhibition hall, world modern printing exhibition hall, printing equipment hall, digital exhibition hall and temporary exhibition hall. Many precious collections in the museum are donated by the museum's advisory expert committee and some prominent people, from historical pottery, scriptures and ancient and modern fonts, lead characters, printing equipment, to a complete set of printed books. The necessary coaxing artifact ~ punch card stamp, cultural and creative popsicles, you can also experience a ~ engraving printing, not difficult, very fulfilling!

Today, a few blue bricks were found near the gate of Cining Palace. When I looked carefully, I found that the brick was engraved with words. After I identified it, I found that it was a kiln for burning blue bricks. One left only one "bao" word, and the other had three words on it, probably: Yu (or Le?) kiln.
