Spire National Park is located on the east side of California's Central Valley and southeast of San Jose. The park features spire rocks generated by volcanic activity. The rocks were originally from the San Andreas fault in the south, and then shifted to their present location through the accumulated back plate movement. The spire national park is also one of the wild sites of the endangered California shrine. The California shrine is the largest bird in the North American continent.
