Castle of Evoramonte

Nice visit

We stopped for coffee in the village and were encouraged to visit the castle by another traveler. Drove up the hill and enjoyed walking around; nothing was open but the view. Glad we stopped.

A delight

I parked at the far end of the walled section on a quiet day, best to park outside the gate on a busy one. Marvellous views from the circuit of walls, take care as there are no handrails. The keep is ...

great views

The castle is now being run by a young man who has a keen interest in it and the village it is in. He hope to offer guided tours of the castle and village in the near future.

Three empty rooms

The castle is impressive but there are only three empty rooms. The town could have been interesting but there was nothing for visitors, not even a cafe. The view was nice but that is all.
