It is a statue of a cat in front of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building at the west exit of Shinjuku. It is based on the story that when Dokan Ota lost to Ikusa and almost lost his life, a cat appeared and guided him on the escape route. It is said that it is called "Tama-chan" because it has a ball. I knew it was there from the beginning, but when I approached it and looked closely this time, I was surprised to know that it was a statue made by the famous sculptor Masayuki Ryu.
