Cute cat stature
A cute cat statue by a famous sculptor Nagare Masayuki with a charming story of a black cat saving Ota Dokan who built Edo Castle in a pinch. It's at the Sumitomo Triangle Building.
Currently, the first floor square of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building (commonly known as the Triangle Building) in Nishi-Shinjuku is under construction. The roof will be built in June 2020 and will open as a space for many people. What will happen to the Tama-chan statue? .. ..
It's not as much a tourist spot, so many people pass by. I thought it would be okay to read about 1 degrees because explanations are also written. It's not a place to go all the way.
Do you know "Tama-chan statue"? There is a 52-story Shinjuku Sumitomo Building with a triangular columnar shape on the ground in the skyscrapers at the west exit of Shinjuku Station. A statue of Tama-chan, a cat with a lovely expression, welcomed me to the building square. Unfortunately, Mr. Ryu died this year on Tanabata, due to the internationally active sculptor Masayuki Nagare. I think Tama-chan, who contributed to Mr. Ryu, will continue to be loved. Please look at the black cat and read the inscription ...
It is a statue of a cat in front of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building at the west exit of Shinjuku. It is based on the story that when Dokan Ota lost to Ikusa and almost lost his life, a cat appeared and guided him on the escape route. It is said that it is called "Tama-chan" because it has a ball. I knew it was there from the beginning, but when I approached it and looked closely this time, I was surprised to know that it was a statue made by the famous sculptor Masayuki Ryu.
