The Vancouver Museum is located on top of the ancestral village, where there was an ancient Indian tribe before the government decided to requisition the land for use as a museum. The museum has many totems of Indian tribes, their tribes and languages, and later died due to infectious diseases and massacres such as smallpox brought about by European colonization. The Indians, as first Canadian citizens, exist in the bitter cold reserves of the north, and some are integrated into local society.
