The life-saving club on the Gujindu historical district of Zhenjiang City is a provincial cultural relics protection unit in Jiangsu Province. The life-saving club is the earliest civil life-saving organization in China. It was built in the Song Dynasty and has a special red boat.
Lifesaving Club Lifesaving Club was the earliest, largest and most influential folk charity in China, founded by Zhenjiang people in Qing Kangxi in 42 years. Its main function is to rescue people in distress. The lifesaving club has a fast and steady red boat, daily patrolling the river, timely rescue of distressed vessels and fallen boats. The two-story building built on the former site of the lifesaving club is now well preserved.
In the scenic spot of Xijindu Street in Zhenjiang, there is a small attraction with the title of the lifesaving club, which is not very eye-catching. Inside is the Zhenjiang Lifesaving Museum. You can take a look at it by the way. There are few people and it is very casual.
The lifesaving club is located on the ancient street of Xijindu, which is also a few major attractions in Xijindu. The lifesaving club itself is in an ancient residential building, transformed into a museum, mainly telling the establishment, development and demise of Zhenjiang Lifesaving Club, which spans nearly 1,000 years.
