The Meiping River cruise ship, the Meiping River, originated from the Mother River of Thailand, crosses the city from Chiang Mai and flows into the sea from Bangkok. We took a boat tour of the river. Drinking water is very yellow, just like the turbidity of the Yellow River. Not only can we see the famous Golden Triangle at the junction point between Thailand and Laos and Myanmar, but also we can go to Laos and visit the commodity market. It seems to be very lively. In fact, it's shabby opposite. It's not good to see. We are advised not to be deceived anymore. It's not worth going.
By cruise boat, the river is relatively yellow, located in the golden triangle, Thailand, Laos and Myanmar intersection point, you can board the boat to visit the opposite Lao island, there is nothing on the island, there are several Lao flags can be photographed, you can also buy some Lao coins and stamps.
When we crossed the iron bridge, we saw the Meiping River cruise boat and decided to travel by the river. The young ladies at the ticket office were efficient and the upstream journey was interesting. The boatman provided us with information about many buildings and private houses we passed through. When we arrived at the education farm, we saw a variety of plants grown on the actual farm, mainly herbs for cooking and medicinal purposes. We also got some delicious fruit and fruit drinks.
Great way to see Chiang Mai!
After the Loy Krathong festivities, massages, cooking and lots of walking through temples , a cruise up the river was a nice diversion. You get to see a little bit of life along the Ping, kids playing in the river, and a "farm" . If I were to do this again I would see if there was an option to cruise the river for the sights and breeze but skip the farm.
