🌲🏖️⛰️ Llanddwyn Beach, Anglesey, Wales — where pine tree forest meets sea and mountains

If you want a beach that feels untouched and a little bit magical, this is it.

🌲The walk in
You start by walking through a pine tree forest. With well-marked paths and signs leading to the beach, all you have to do is bath in the forest pine and sea salt air. As the trees open up, you’ll be greeted by a long stretch of white sandy beach.

🏖️The beach
This isn’t a packed, noisy beach. It’s a long coast with plenty of space for everyone. The water is calm, shallow and crystal clear with soft sand underneath, perfect for kids and beginner swimmers. Bring a paddle board or a kayak and enjoy.

🗻The best part? Swimming with the Snowdonia mountains as your backdrop. It’s unreal. You’ve got forest behind you, mountains across the water, and nothing but nature around you. Bring a beach umbrella or tent though, there’s no shade except in the forest.

🔆The lighthouse on the outrock
At low tide you can walk out to the rocky outcrop with the old lighthouse at the end.
Along the way, you’ll find water coves and sandy beaches with picturesque spots to lay a towel and sunbathe. The water there is emerald and clear, it’s unreal.

Check tide times before you go so you don’t get stranded out there.

📍What to know before you go

🚗 Parking: The nearest is Llanddwyn Beach Car Park and Cwningar Car Park. Both are small and fill up fast. Llanddwyn is closest but only 30 minutes free parking. For free all-day parking try Llyn Rhos-ddu Car Park, but it’s smaller and further away.

⛱️ Facilities: There are no cafes, shops, changing rooms, or bathrooms on site. Plan ahead. Bring plenty of food and water. Sometimes there’s a snack and ice cream truck in the car park, but don’t count on it.

🎒What to pack: Swimming gear, towels, change of clothes, beach umbrella/tent for sun shelter, sun protection, and remember to take your trash with you!

This is an untouched nature spot where forest, sea, and mountain all meet. It takes effort to get there, but it’s 100% worth it. Parking is possibly the only fee you’ll pay. One of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see and experience and remember it for a long time.
