201***91:“The University of Nottingham is much more famous than Nottingham's tourist attractions. Nottingham Castle is one of the few tourist attractions. It is called a castle, but it is not a big house or a big manor on the hillside. If the owner lived there, it would be very comfortable. The square house and the hillside grass around it would be very comfortable. The interior of the house has been converted into a museum and art gallery, so there are not many historical relics.”
Rara2go:“500 acres of parkland nearby the city centre of Nottingham. The grounds house a Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion and gardens. It’s free to enter the hall with no ticket needed to view the collections of wildlife. The gardens and grounds of the park and lake are a beautiful walk. Current pictures taken in Autumn don’t do the colours justice. Autumn is also rutting season so visitors should give the deer their space. The deer are all wild and there are 2 herds, of red deer and fallow. Many locals also use the park for walking their dogs and dogs are to be kept on leash. There is a great children’s playground and coffee shop down at the bottom car park and also a nice little cafe/restaurant up by the hall. Plus steam museum. There are ducks and swans on the lake. Check online for the opening times as they change through the year when the gates are closed at dusk. There are also different events throughout the year such as Christmas lights, concerts, movie nights etc…”
M43***62:“Family walk round the lake. Fabulous value (even with lockdown) at £5 to park. Beautiful scenery (even on a damp morning), wheelchair friendly. Most things closed but café open for takeaways.”
M43***62:“Sherwood Pines never EVER fails to disappoint. Lots of different routes, lots of activities to do, lots of amazing scenery!
Well worth a visit for everybody who lives/visits nearby!”
Where to Stay

Guest User:“It's a very good hotel which has nice receptionists and could provide a nice free breakfast. It would be better if they could provide more types of rooms, such as twins rooms or family rooms.”
Guest User:“Very good stay in the hotel and everything close to the bus station and tram connecting to different parts of the city
Clean room with functional amenities”
Ernest Mak:“Swift and prompt check in. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Room is clean and tidy. The bathroom is very spacious and ergonomically comfortable. The location is superb right in the center of the city center where all the activities and attractions are.”
Guest User:“Amazing stay at this hotel. The facilities were superb we spent time in the jacuzzi, pool and gym. The room was also amazing. A great stay here”
Jessaco:“The whole stay was great, I needed somewhere to stay while work was being carried out on my house. The rooms are spacious and have bathtubs, there was a big desk for me to work at and the internet connection was perfect, I had multiple video conferences and it never dropped once. Housekeeping were kind enough to check if I needed anything everyday, and reception staff were super friendly.
Right next to a massive national trust property had some beautiful autumn walks
However there is absolutely no phone signal (Vodafone)obviously nothing to do with the hotel it’s just extra info about the area!”
Raja:“Was lucky to be the first to stay in one of the rooms in the new wing.
Very clean and comfortable with all new furnishings and new 55 inch tv
Unfortunately, I was only booked in for the one night; arrived late and left early. Overall a short but pleasant stay. Would book again in future if visiting Nottingham.”

TheForkUser:“Julia was really welcoming on our arrival and we were able to place our order for drinks. On Julia’s return we were able to order our meals- Simply Chicken with jacket Potatoes. Shortly after Julia came to our table to inform us that jacket potatoes were unavailable and told us of our other options, which we reordered. Our meals arrived short after and we enjoyed our food.. At the time of our visit the restaurant was quiet but did get busier later on, we liked the seating area that we were placed in.”
TheForkUser:“My husband and I were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. The staff member who was looking after us was lovely. She was very pleasant and made sure that we were satisfied with every stage of our meal. The price was very reasonable too. It's cheaper to visit during the week and not so busy. My only concern was the distance to the disabled toilet. But on the whole, a very enjoyable experience”
TheForkUser:“My granddaughters and I booked a table. We received a friendly greeting on arrival. Unfortunately the table we were given was near the main door and it was very chilly. We asked to be moved. The waitress very helpful and quickly found us another table which was fine. The food was lovely and the service was swift. Will definitely go back.”
TheForkUser:“Brought my mother for a Valentine's Day treat and was very impressed with the quality of both the food and the service. While quite expensive, the food was arguably well worth the price in terms of flavour and presentation, despite delivery being a little slow considering that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The waitresses were all lovely and helpful, with special mention to Melissa and Alice, both of whom went out of their way to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. All in all a wonderfully pleasant experience which I would highly recommend.”
TheForkUser:“Great city centre eatery. Food fantastic and a great price too. Brilliant staff, with a really good knowledge of their menu with great recommendations”
TheForkUser:“Went for afternoon tea for mums birthday was instantly given a glass of Prosecco lovely touch the service was fantastic and the afternoon tea was amazing cakes yummy”
TheForkUser:“Had dinner at The Trent Lock several times, and never been disappointed. Service very friendly and food is excellent. Furthermore, it's top restaurant in the area for bathrooms cleanliness, they are always spot on”
