Photos of Royal Monastery of St. Jerome

This exquisite and ornate building in the center of Granada is a Catholic monastery inaugurated in 1504, some 600 years ago. The monastery was moved here from the monastery of the two Catholic popes on the outskirts of Granada. It mixes Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles. The altar of the central chapel depicting the Assumption of the Virgin uses a lot of exquisite relief technology, which is luxurious. The end of Islam was the cause of the common struggle of two Catholic popes, and the coffin of Marshal Córdoba, who played a major role in the battle for the dominion of Granada, is also housed here. In the hinterland of the monastery, there are two graceful and luxurious courtyards, which are enough to make the tourists who pass through them revel in the elegant atmosphere of the monastery.
