In 1986, the state organized forces to reinforce and repair the twin towers. During the repair of the West Tower, a sealed hollow dome was built with a number of cultural relics, including the Mongolian Khanate silver coin "Dachao Tongbao" and the early Yuan Dynasty "Zhongtongbao". Notes, silk "painted Buddhist paintings" (Thangka), "silk paper flowers", wood carvings "Shangle King Kong Double Statue", "wooden vase" and bronze Buddha statues, etc. In 1988, the twin towers were listed as the second batch of key cultural relics protection units by the state.
