St. John has been proving for a few years that gorgeous British fare doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. An absolute must.
Custard filled doughnut tasted OK.the dough itself was great but I didn't like the texture of the filling
Get the crab! Takes me back to Biology at school!
Who would have thought the British grab can be tasty?! It helps when it's washed down with the French wine...
Friendly staff, honest food and nice atmosphere. Delicious lemon pie
The waitress stared at my 2 yearold a few times while we were ordering as he was playing with the fork on the table. We did not stay .Hope the manager reads this & trains the staff. rude&unwelcoming
Guests actively encouraged to share dishes as they're ready from the kitchen. If you come in group, do try their feasting menu, such as Whole Roast Suckling Pig, you will need to pre-order it.
On the face of it, let alone in a "budget eats" feature, £5.70 seems an awful lot to pay for a bacon butty. But the St John bacon butty is indisputably worth every one of those 570 pennies...
Hmm... I can see the appeal if you're moneyed, but £7 for a small plate of raw cauliflower and beans in mayo and mustard is way over my budget, I'm afraid. Bread is delicious though.
menu changes but smoked and pickled things are always great. get the chocolate cake with caramel ice cream for dessert. i always get a loaf of their fabulous bread to take away.
