In order to open up tourism at the source of the Yellow River, Maduo County People's Government built a "Heyuan Niu Tau Monument for the Soul of China" in September 1988. The monument weighs 5.1 tons and is made of pure copper. The Niutou Stele is built on the top of Cuorigaze Mountain in Maduo County, with an altitude of 4610 meters.
