Dazhangxi is a large tributary of the lower reaches of the Minjiang River in central Fujian Province, China. It originates from Daiyun Mountain in Chishui Town, Dehua County. The source is National Treasure Stream. It is called Chanxi from Dehua to Nancheng. Tongguan River and other rivers flow into it; it flows into Nangang in the lower reaches of the Minjiang River at the mouth of Minhou County. The Dazhang River Basin covers an area of 4,843 square kilometers, with a river length of 234 kilometers (231 kilometers), and the average slope of the river is 2.1‰. Since ancient times, Dazhangxi has been the main waterway for the three counties along the coast to communicate with the surrounding areas and go to the sea. The basin is very rich in hydraulic resources. Historically, many water diversion projects were built on the main and tributaries. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, a large number of reservoirs and power stations were under construction. In particular, the Longmentan Water Diversion and Power Generation Project, located in Shuoru Village, Xiabi Township, is a cross-basin water diversion, cascade power generation, and comprehensive utilization project. It provides important conditions for local economic and social development.
