Exploring Monet's Garden in the Town of Giverny
On the way from Versailles to Rouen, passing through the town of Giverny, I had long heard of the fame of Monet's Garden and decided to pay a visit. It was the weekend and unexpectedly crowded; after a long winter, people seemed eager to enjoy the beautiful scenery of green trees and red flowers bestowed by nature in spring. The A13 highway from Paris to Rouen was almost entirely congested with red and yellow traffic, and it took three rounds according to 'ancient practice' to find a parking spot in the parking lot. When leaving, I did a favor by giving my parking spot to a Chinese lady.
Monet, the master of Impressionist painting, lived here from 1883 to 1926 for 43 years, leaving behind a private garden built in his favored style, which is depicted in many of his later works. It has left a wonderful memory for posterity and has become a pilgrimage site for Impressionism.
The town itself seems to be influenced by him, appearing particularly special, probably also in the Impressionist style depicted in his works. The main attractions are two: Monet's Garden and House (currently the ticket is 11 euros per adult) and the Museum of Impressionism Giverny. There is a free parking lot for self-driving visitors, but spaces are tight, and there are other paid parking lots nearby.
The house retains the scene of his life at that time, his works, and his favorite decorations. Monet collected some cultural and artistic works from the East, mainly Japanese Ukiyo-e paintings in his collection, and I also saw Chinese paintings, which, although not labeled, were highly recognizable. Perhaps because of his love for Eastern culture, the water garden in the garden was created with a lily pond and a Japanese bridge (rebuilt according to the paintings of that time). Both the town and Monet's house and garden have a different charm and are very ornamental.
The house and garden are closed in winter and open to the public from April to October each year. The flowers in the garden are always in bloom with the seasons, accompanied by the pink house, green trees, and the water lilies in the pond, it is itself a wonderful landscape painting that makes people linger.
During the visit, it was noon, with strong and direct sunlight, not the most beautiful scenery, but due to the limited opening hours, starting at 09:30 in the morning, it is difficult to see the most beautiful moments. The entire tour takes 2-3 hours, including queuing time.
Tips: The location given by the navigation is the entrance for tour groups. Individual visitors should walk to the end of the alley, turn right, and proceed to arrive; because the water garden is separated by a road, it is said to have been purchased and built by Monet later, so after visiting the house and garden, go through the underground passage to visit the water garden.
An unforgettable trip to the beauty. Entering the garden of the master's ingenuity to remodel more than 40 years, as in the painting. Its quiet and elegant, moving steps can be found; warm and cool, glazed. Feeling full, looking up, don't be sincere!
Monet Garden, beautiful open courtyard, carrying Monet's great paintings, water lilies here, every place is romantic, poetic and painting, in it, feel the charm of artistic atmosphere!
The former residence of Monet has a garden and a residence 2. You can visit the garden first, the garden area is not large, and you can walk for an hour. Then you can walk to the former residence. Basically, you can walk for more than 2 hours. Then you can have breakfast in the small restaurant next to the former residence and kill a morning like this. To see flowers, or to go in the summer, especially early in the morning.
Overall awesome, the scenery is very good, all kinds of plants and flowers are flourishing, and the painter's creative environment is immersed in the environment.
Monet's garden is beautiful, the garden is very carefully managed, it is very convenient to buy tickets on Trip.com, eliminating the waiting for the queue. However, Monet Garden is far from the city of Paris. It is best to charter a car in the past, and it is almost the same for a long time.
Although the season of water lilies has not been opened, it does not affect her beauty at all. There are too many people, the attractions are not big, and it is more crowded.
对莫奈和法国乡村花园感兴趣的还是很值得一看的,整个花园都是浓浓的莫奈风
The attractions are good, beautiful and have stories. Ticketing is also convenient and simple. The traffic to Monet Gardens in Paris is also very convenient, and the train is about 1 hour away. But there are few restaurants near the garden, and meals should be arranged in advance.
