A nice old building off the usual sightseeing path
At over 100 years old, this Former Hirosaki Kaikosha is a well preserved piece of history (preservation work still ongoing). I can't remember exactly what the admission fee was but I'm sure it wasn't ...
It is a building that was once used as the Imperial Army 8th Division Officer Club. It was renovated in 1908. It makes you feel the good atmosphere of the first half of the 20th century. Access is about a 20-minute walk from JR Hirosaki Station. There is also "Osamu Dazai Manabi's House", which was Osamu Dazai's boarding destination, in the immediate vicinity, so I think you can visit it at the same time.
Buildings that can feel the remnants of the rokumeikan era ~ You can hear the voices of soldiers ~

I stayed at the art hotel Hirosaki for 1 minutes on foot in front of JR Hirosaki Station. The former Hirosaki kogyosha is a very accessible place within a 15-minute walk from the hotel. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk fast. On the other side of the street is the schoolhouse of Osamu Dazai, a literary master of the Showa era. In addition, there is the Hirosaki High School Foreign Teachers' Hall (currently operated as a Hirosaki University Cafe) and Hirosaki University, which is located in a place full of historical and cultural highlights. Hirosaki's culture and history ...
It is one of the hawk hunting grounds during the feudal administration, and in 1815 it became a garden and villa of the feudal lord. It is opposite "Dazai Osamu Manabi's House" in Hirosaki Kosei Gakuin, but when I went there in early July, it was under construction and I couldn't see it. I'm sorry.
In June 2018, で in the fortifications cannot be seen in the school.

I visited the Western-style buildings and Western-style buildings in Hirosaki and stopped by here. Unfortunately, as of June 2018, the preservation and repair work is underway and cannot be visited. You cannot also see the building from outside the gate. The building is an exchange facility for division officers completed in 1897. It is a gorgeous Western-style building and is one of the representative buildings in Hirosaki. After the war, it was owned by Hirosaki Kosei Gakuin and was used as a memorial hall for the Gakuin. This is a building that you definitely want to visit after completion of preservation and repair.
