Pungsuwon is the first Catholic village in Korea. In 1801, more than 40 believers fled from Yongin City to build a village here, but their religious life has always lacked priests. Father LeMere came here in 1888 and in 1896 built this Catholic church with Chinese engineers. Completed in 1907, this church is the fourth largest cathedral in Korea. The Catholic Church is small in size and built by a foreigner. It has now replaced several priests. The locals have also come here. The church's gates are very retro and are all shovels.
