Icheon Ceramics Village

Icheon Pottery Village is a representative pottery village in Korea that produces traditional ceramics. The reason why it has become the center of traditional Korean pottery is mainly because the history of porcelain in Korea for 500 years first began in the center of Icheon and Gwangju, and also because the raw materials and pigments for pottery can be easily purchased in Icheon. Icheon Pottery Village was the center of ancient Korean white porcelain making. Now there are more than 80 ceramic factories and more than 300 pottery kilns gathered here. In the pottery village, you can not only learn about the whole process of making ceramics, but also buy them directly. Especially here, you can enjoy the proud works of old potters who are known as the folk cultural heritage of the pottery world. Among them, there are not only ornamental porcelain such as celadon, white porcelain and pink blue, but also modern life porcelain. Among them, Haigang Ceramics Art Museum is the only porcelain art museum in China, where tourists can learn a lot about pottery. Every year, the Icheon Pottery Village holds the worldwide "Icheon Ceramics Festival", which promotes the traditional culture of Korea to the world. At the Ceramics Festival, a variety of programs such as a pottery room displaying pottery, demonstrations of firing and kiln firing, single-piece pottery and pottery group exhibitions are prepared for visitors.
