About 10 minutes walk from Katsuyama station. The year of its founding is unknown. Moved to its current location in 1602. A temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji school. The principal image is Amida Nyorai. The wooden tiled main hall (built in 1935) is large and magnificent, but the precincts are a bit murky. Every year in August, a memorial service 'kennyo Ko' is held to remember kennyo shonin, and a wooden statue that kennyo made himself is opened only at this time.

You can see a large roof from the vicinity of Katsuyama Station. I entered from the lonely entrance on the Gomachi-dori side, but the main hall is quite large and the site is larger than I had imagined. It seems that the roots are "songo Komyoji" established by the power of Echizen Ikko Ikki, and it is said that it was rooted here around 1600.

The main hall was larger than the Katsuyama Post Office building. The precincts in front of the main hall were also wide and it seemed possible to gather many people. The gate, which corresponds to the entrance to the precincts, was opposite to the main hall, which was closed.
