Pompeii is a major city in ancient Rome near Naples, Italy. In 79 AD, the Vesuvius volcano erupted, buried the entire city in ash and preserved. Today, Pompeii is a popular archaeological site with visitors, displaying architecture, life and culture from the ancient Roman period.
wow wow wow … if you get the opportunity to go here then I would highly recommend the trip. book guide… their knowledge is incredible and it is amazing to hear the history surrounding the places you visit. it is hot so make sure you wear a hat as there is no shelter.
Buy tickets in advance and slide into the park. The park is really too big to visit for two days. Although the history of this site is very long, it is still very well preserved, and I vaguely feel the majesty of Pompeii's film.
