Phimai National Museum

I visited Phimai National Museum on 26 December 2023, but unfortunately it was closed for renovation. However, I was still able to admire the monument and stone sculptures that they placed outside for visitors to see while they are working on the interior. The museum has a fine collection of Khmer artefacts from various sites in northeastern Thailand, dating back to the 12th century¹. This museum It began from being an open-air museum. In the care of the Archaeological Division, the Fine Arts Department since 1974, with the duty at that time for conservation and exhibiting antiques obtained from the excavation and restoration of Phimai Castle together with the relics obtained from collecting from the province Various areas in the northeast until 1978 have been transferred to the responsibility of the National Museum Division.
