The Xiamen Botanical Garden was established in 1960, covering an area of 4.93 square kilometers, and is the first botanical garden in Fujian Province. The garden is home to more than 8,000 species of exotic plants, including over 2,000 succulents and more than 500 cacti. It features specialized areas such as the Psammophyte Zone, Casuarina Equisetifolia Grassland, Rainforest World, Vine Plant Zone, Flower Garden, Hundred Flowers Hall, and West Mountain Garden, among its 15 specialized garden zones, earning it the nickname 'Green Museum'. Xiamen Botanical Garden, to me, feels like a small island; it's really vast. However, I really like the infrastructure of the park. Entering from the south gate, after walking a bit, there's a mountain elevator, which is such a energy saver. What would be a half-day hike is done in half an hour. Once you're up, there's a sightseeing bus that goes up and down the mountain. You can get off at a station to look around, then take the sightseeing bus to the next stop. It is located on the south side of Wanshi Lake and covers an area of about 1 hectare. The Nanyang Fir family has 3 genera and 37 species. Our garden currently introduces 3 genera and 15 species. About 10 hectares of heterophyllous Nanyang fir forest is planted on the southeast side of the Nanyang Fir Lawn, which is currently the largest heterophyllous Nanyang fir pure forest in China.
