　While enjoying the downstream of Yanagawa, the statue standing at the edge of the moat was the statue of Yoshimasa Tanaka. Yoshimasa Tanaka is the first Chikugo kokushu and is said to have been the first person to develop digging, roads, and reclamation, including Yanagawa Castle. The river course we passed by a donko boat was built in that era, that is, the moat he made. It seems that he has been widely respected as a god of civil engineering and flood control since ancient times.
