探云:“In the evening, accompanied by Amo, we arrived at the holy mausoleum. Since Friday is the weekend in Iran and Saturday is the festival to commemorate the first Imam, many Muslims are accustomed to go to the mosque or the holy mausoleum to pray at this time. The square outside the holy mausoleum is full of devout believers. The women in black robes are particularly conspicuous. At first glance, the whole square is dark and full of mystery. Although there are many people, it is very peaceful under the sunset. Under the inspiration of the holy mausoleum, it seems to solidify the sense of holiness.
Non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the mausoleum, nor can they enter with backpacks, let alone take pictures. Amo said that there were three women from Beijing who wanted to visit, but the gatekeeper refused to let them in. However, the rules are dead. When the crowds are surging, you can still sneak in by lowering your head and pretending to be cool. I said it was no difficulty, and I didn’t mean pretending. Although it is a mausoleum, it is very large inside.
I was shocked the moment I stepped into the holy mausoleum. The ceiling dome columns were all made of mirrors from photos! Imagine that the mosque was originally covered with colorful mosaics, but this time they were all replaced with small reflective lenses, which sparkled and shone under the flashy crystal chandeliers, and were so dazzling that they blinded my eyes! I was completely stunned! Although I also knew that the Tomb of the King of Light in Shiraz was also decorated in this way, it was really jaw-dropping when I saw it for the first time. Amo explained to me that although this kind of mirror decoration is exaggerated, the purpose is to warn believers through the broken portraits of small lenses that no one is perfect and they should be cautious and not arrogant.
The mausoleum was very crowded and we could only follow the flow of people. Many people would squeeze into the middle where the coffin was placed to touch it as a sign of respect. There were staff members holding long feather dusters to maintain order, and they clicked me as a warning when they saw me taking pictures secretly. I dodged and continued to commit crimes. Anyway, I didn't understand what they said.”
