YOKO ONO: DREAM TOGETHER | Berlin
Apr 11–Sep 14, 2025 (UTC+1)
Berlin
YOKO ONO: DREAM TOGETHER at Neue Nationalgalerie is an exhibition featuring works from across Ono’s groundbreaking career.
The exhibition invites viewers to move beyond passive observation and engage in active participation – both physically and mentally. Often beginning on an individual level, these actions evolve into broader collective efforts, demonstrating the transformative power of communal actions in working toward peace and imagining a different world. The works invite collective actions of repair, healing, cleaning, mending, wishing, imagining, and dreaming.
Before entering the exhibition, visitors are invited to engage in a moment of self-reflection through Cleaning Piece (1996). Piles of local river stones are arranged, prompting visitors to reflect on their joys and sorrows. This is followed with instructions to fold paper cranes for peace, gradually filling the exhibition space. In Mend Piece (1966), visitors take part in an act of repair, piecing together broken ceramic cups and “mending with wisdom and love.” The exhibitions central installation, Play It By Trust (1966/1991), features a large chess table where up to 20 players can simultaneously engage in the nearly impossible act of playing with all white chess pieces, challenging them to “play as long as you remember where all your pieces are.”

Rachel von Morgenstern | Frankfurt
May 10–Jun 28, 2025 (UTC+1)
Frankfurt
Rachel von Morgenstern works on translucent polyester canvases, which are themselves stretched on heavy stretcher frames. With preferably vivid colors and hues of acrylic paint von Morgenstern develops intriguing arrangements of color and spatiality, transparency and opacity in gentle and dynamic gestures. Her compositions oftentimes appear light and elegant yet determined in the way elements such as gestural brushstrokes or abstract undefined shapes are placed and color nuances chosen. Her painterly pictorial settings brilliantly evoke the suspenseful ambiguity of painting between its very material surface and illusion of pictorial space.

The Vocatium Fair is a training and learning fair that brings together companies, technical colleges and universities, academies and institutions in a personal dialogue with young people about career choices.
The unique advantage of the Vocatium Messe is the well-prepared and planned discussions between students and exhibitors. As a result, the quality and benefit of the consultation session is higher for both exhibitors and young people than at a regular career fair. Before the fair, students are preparing to visit the fair by the organizing team of the IfT Institute for Talent Development. IfT then organizes individual meetings with exhibitors, taking into account the professional interests and wishes of the students. Students receive these one-to-one appointments 14 days prior to the exhibition date so they can prepare for their study fair interview with specific questions and, if necessary, an application folder. Spontaneous visitors without an appointment are also very welcome at the training fair. In addition to personal conversations with exhibitors, all visitors to Vocatium will be offered an informative lecture program. The unique concept of the exhibition with scheduled meetings has proven itself in 90 locations throughout Germany. The organizer looks back on 20 years of experience and every year motivates 500,000 young people to recognize and develop their talents and prepare well for careers and study choices.

zkm_gameplay. the next level | Berlin
Sep 29, 2022–Dec 31, 2025 (UTC+1)
Berlin
The exhibition is aimed at gamers of all ages, but also at visitors who have little experience with computer games.
The fact that computer games have developed into a leading medium is no longer a daring thesis. The social and aesthetic significance of the interactive and multimedia medium can no longer be overlooked. The computer game has freed itself from its origins as a laboratory experiment and toy and has become "the" medium of digital society, somewhere between pop culture, entertainment and art.
With the opening of the exhibition »The World of Games« in the fall of 1997, the ZKM was one of the first art institutions worldwide to give video game culture a permanent public platform in an art context. Since then, the ZKM has repeatedly reshaped the presentation of games in a series of different exhibitions.
Embracing Modernism: Big names from the Stadtmuseum Berlin | Karlsruhe
Oct 7, 2022–Sep 30, 2026 (UTC+1)
Karlsruhe
Twelve highlights from its premium collection will be guests at the Berlinische Galerie from October 2022. They bring new tones to the permanent in-house exhibition, sparking a conversation with resident works.
Sharing collections and jointly making them accessible to the public must become standard museum practice in the future. In this instance, the partnership was prompted by extensive conversion work at the Märkisches Museum, which is scheduled to close for four years in 2023, leaving the foundation Stadtmuseum Berlin without its principal home. To ensure that significant paintings from its collection can remain on display, the idea was born in the two houses of integrating selected works into the permanent exhibition “Art in Berlin 1880-1980”. Early modern art is a particular strength of the Stadtmuseum Berlin holdings.
The paintings to be hosted at the Berlinische Galerie are by Max Beckmann, Theo von Brockhusen, Lovis Corinth, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Walter Leistikow, Max Liebermann, Edvard Munch and Lesser Ury. All of them were important figures who enriched the city’s art scene in the early 20th century.

Isolated bodies, waiting for a touch With works by Tirdad Hashemi, Soufia Erfanian and Mahsa Saloor | Hua International
May 2–Jun 28, 2025 (UTC+1)
Berlin
Intestine disorder is a condition that has been largely caused by stress and anxiety since Tirdad Hashemi’s childhood. As a transgender person, Tirdad has always focused on studying weakened, isolated, and reshaped bodies through their paintings. Drawing ill and malfunctioning intestines together with Soufia Erfanian, Tirdad’s partner, is a form of caring for each other in their relationship. Mahsa Saloor’s poem accompanying the drawings, allows Tirdad to explore other aspects of the body, which is very important to them as a POC who grew up and lived in a community-oriented culture of Iran. Saloor’s poetry explores the relationship between nature, queer feminist spirituality, sensuality, and eros. They are interested in the subversive potential of poetry as a form to activate the interiority of psychic life to be a sensuous experience, and as a tool for fostering cosmologies that aim to recuperate our relationship with nature, the sacred, and the erotic. Connected, Dou’s drawings and Mahsa’s words gain more meaning and become more powerful.
