Modern electronic traffic guides are of a single form and readily available, while the number of ancient road and traffic maps is small, but the categories and forms are rich and diverse, such as the road passes and route maps in business books, prefecture and county maps often engraved in local chronicles, or detailed round-trip station maps specially compiled for emperors to tour and visit tombs, border defense maps used by soldiers to garrison and patrol the border, large-scale post road maps connecting the four directions, and local political division maps such as provinces, prefectures, states, and counties, with city route maps drawn in conjunction, etc. The exhibition features 20 sets of maps and books with road characteristics from the 14th century to the early 20th century in the museum's collection.
