Join us on Fri, May 30, 2025 for a unique benefit stand-up comedy show like no other at the historic Santa Lucia Hall (725 Pierce St) in Omaha's Little Italy neighborhood. Nationally touring comic Dan Alten headlines this one of a kind event with special guests Rachel Ware, Bill Queen, and more! We're raising some dough to improve the bocce court behind the Style de Familglia public art installation on 7th street which is maintained by the Towns Homeowners Association. This unique event is brought to the Little Itally neighborhood in collaboration with Little Italy Artist Guild, Sons and Daughter of Italy, Santa Lucia Festival, Orsi's Italian Bakery, Emmet's Tavern, Quick Draw Comedy. Due to EXTREMELY limited seating capacity, make sure you don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind event in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Omaha. Dan Alten is an intelligent goofball from Kentucky who has headlined shows in 30 states playing everything from theaters to punk basements to art galleries to beloved comedy clubs. Doing over 200 shows a year bringing his tight night surreal nonsense to the people, like if the Ramones were one guy with a mustache and good jokes. He has opened for Kyle Kinane, Bobcat, Rory Scovel, Sarah Sherman from SNL, Johnny Pemberton, Hari Kondabolu, rapper Open Mike Eagle, DJ Doug Pound & David Leibe Hart from Tim & Eric, various punk bands with silly names, and a guy at an open mic who tried to throw his father’s ashes into the crowd. If you booked for other people please ensure this information is shared with them. THANK YOU! "An Unexpected Journey" Gallery Tour - this is our regular tour and it takes about 90 minutes. In the lower galleries you will hear a presentation on the architecture of the house, its history and most famous owners, as well as an introduction to the art and ethos of visual artist Eugen-Florin Zamfirescu. In the upper galleries you have an opportunity to travel on an unexpected journey, exploring art inspired by Newtonian physics, quantum mechanics and the theories of relativity, as well as to see the artist's studio and some of his latest projects. We would appreciate arrival 5 -10 minutes before your scheduled tour for check-in. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals. This is a private home with no architectural changes since the 1870s when it was built. It still has the original hardwood floors as well as unique Persian carpets and rugs throughout so to protect it all we kindly ask guests to remove their shoes. We encourage you, if possible, to bring house shoes, soft soles. The house is not wheelchair accessible and there are no public washrooms. Art can be appreciated at any age but please note the presentations during the tour are not easily accessible to a young audience, therefore we suggest at least 14 years old and up (please do connect with us if you have questions).​ Please travel light while visiting - no food, water, large bags, strollers, and other non-essential items. More details about this event: WHAT TO EXPECT: Participants will be required to bring their own rapid antigen Covid test to be taken upon arrival, or show a photo of a rapid antigen test taken the day of the event. Once they have received a negative result or have shown a photo of that day's negative result to the assistant, they will be escorted into the workshop space. The welcome circle and workshop will introduce participants to one another and offer guided exercises and support to practice communication skills. Afterwards, there will be approximately two hours available for practicing touch, eating snacks, or just hanging out. Our event ends a few minutes before 6:00pm with a brief closing circle. NOTE: Touch is not required at this event. Every activity is optional. You are welcome to come and observe only! You get to choose THE WHOLE TIME. PUNCTUALITY: Allow time for losing your keys and getting caught in traffic and looking for parking in order to be on time. Doors open at 1:00pm and close PROMPTLY at 1:30pm.
