This event is for people who've previously attended at least 3 official Cuddle Parties that have been facilitated by Cuddle Party Inc. certified facilitators. It will rely on your knowledge and experience from previous events, and will allow you to explore cuddles with other experienced folx! If you haven't yet participated in Cuddle Parties and would like to join us in the future, you can sign up for them here: sfcuddles.eventbrite.com Here's some information about what to expect: What's the difference between a regular party and this Cuddle Clinic? This is not a Cuddle Party - While Cuddle Party rules still apply, it will not be structured the same way. A shorter Welcome Circle = more time for cuddling ! You will be cuddling with other experienced cuddlers = meaning easier consent conversations that flow. There will be an optional workshop clinic led by Yoni during the cuddling portion - this will allow you to practice certain aspects of consent and cuddling. We'll likely have a smaller crowd since only Avid Cuddlers can sign up. Building stronger bonds with familiar faces. Are the rules the same as a regular Cuddle Party? Yup! We'll have a quick and easy refresher on the 11 rules, and do a few exercises to get us in the mood for consent communication. Is this still a fully vaccinated and boosted event? YES! For the safety of everyone, all participants must be fully vaccinated and boosted. SOME REMINDER NOTES: LOCATION: HeartLab, San Francisco. 3095 21st St, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA. The venue has one step at the entrance, but is otherwise wheelchair accessible. More details will be given with your ticket. BRING: Comfortable PJs, personal water bottle, and if you'd like you can bring blankets, pillows and any kind of soft fluffy things to enhance your experience. Face masks are allows but will not be required. PLEASE BE ON TIME: Make certain to account for TRAFFIC AND PARKING. Parking in the area might be a bit difficult, but it is a few blocks away from the 24th & Mission BART station. Doors close at 1:30pm - no late entry . The opening Welcome Circle is intended for introductions and to go over the rules of Cuddle Party. This is an important aspect of the Cuddle Party experience and creates a safe container for all participants. It is essential for everyone to be on time. You will not be admitted after doors close. The skills, principles and awareness we share help in intimate relationships and family, and in workplace, social, political and spiritual life. Using experiential learning in whole class, small groups and pairs, together with trainer demonstrations, we help you build your skills with: - Self-connection and self-understanding. - Listening with empathy. - Expressing yourself from the heart with compassion and courage. - Transforming "enemy images" of others. - Building resilience and capacity to resolve conflicts, and more! These classes can also help you form community with others who value connected communication. Many lasting friendships and "empathy buddy" relationships have started or deepened in Communication Dojo workshops! TODAY'S TOPIC 6/24/25 Self-Connection - 90% of effective communication is about self-connection. If you're not connected to what's going on in you, it's hard to connect with anyone else to a satisfying degree. We'll focus on the Ladder Questions, a powerful tool for self-connection. UPCOMING TOPICS 7/1/25 Transforming Enemy Images If you see someone as an enemy, an obstacle, a means to an end or as "wrong," it affects your ability to communicate and connect with them. This makes it much less likely that the relationship between you will lead to the kinds of outcomes you'd prefer. Transforming your "enemy image" means starting to see their humanity again. This does not mean agreeing with them or agreeing *to* anything in particular, but it does mean you'll be more likely to move forward in a way that meets your needs and theirs! 7/8/25 Self-Expression IQ Expressing ourselves with authenticity, compassion, strength and courage. What happens when we communicate this way, and the other person continues to use blame, judgments, demands, shoulds, right/wrong thinking and other kinds of "pointy" communication? He believes strongly in teaching the principles of NVC in a way that frees students from specialized language, and allows facility with connected communication to grow in small, quickly assimilated steps. Since 2007 Newt has been facilitating NVC groups, leading workshops and retreats, and developing his unique approach in public and organizational settings. He has taught NVC, NVC mediation and NVC coaching across the USA and in Europe. Leeza Pesenson, Assistant Trainer Leeza is passionate about understanding how our minds work and how we connect with each other. She studied cognitive psychology and works as a User Experience Researcher by day. Leeza fell madly in love with NVC after attending Newt’s drop-in classes at The Center SF in 2018 and has been a dedicated practitioner ever since. Self-guided tours provide the opportunity for groups of 10-30 visitors (students and their chaperones) to tour The Randall Museum on your own. The charge is for an entire group. If you have a group with more than 30 visitors, we recommend purchasing two tickets. Is there parking? There is a large parking lot available. Buses are able to drop students off in the parking lot. Is there space to eat lunch? Yes, there is an outdoor ampitheater, group picnic bench and lawn to sit and have lunch. In the event of rain, there can be space made indoors. What is the cancellation policy? You can cancel your field trip up to 4 business days before the event for a full refund. How many chaperones are necessary? We prefer that you have minimum 2 chaperone for every 10 students.
