These classes are open to all levels and abilities, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone. Each session will feature a live model, allowing you to practice capturing the human form in a variety of poses and perspectives. Please remember to bring your own materials, including A4 and/or A3 white drawing paper, good drawing pencils, charcoal pencils or sticks, black/dark pastels, a rubber, and a sharpener/cutter. If you're unable to bring your own supplies, Manus can provide some for you. Additionally, the venue has boards, desks, and other materials available for use. Throughout the classes, Manus will provide expert tuition, guiding you through different techniques and aspects of life drawing. The four sessions will cover topics such as foreshortening, drawing hands and feet, portrait drawing focusing on expressions, and the use of color in life drawing. There will be a 10-minute break during each session, offering an opportunity to relax and enjoy refreshments. To secure your spot, advance booking is recommended. To participate in the session, bring your own materials, although some basic kit is available as a backup if needed. When arriving at the New England House, approach from the New England Street side of the building and locate the locked blue double doors next to the sign for the 'Building Manager's Office'. Detailed instructions for navigating the building can be found at the door. The studio, number 1 on level 5, South, is where the portrait club takes place. The sessions are free to attend and are supported by the Draw Brighton Patreon. Consider becoming a Draw Patreon supporter for £3.60 a month to help sustain these sessions.
